KOBRA AND THE LOTUS are a female fronted Hard Rock band from Canada. They were formed in 2009 by lead vocalist Kobra Paige with "Evolution" being their sixth studio album. The album is release under Napalm Records on September 20th, 2019. The album lasts 40 minutes 12 seconds and consists of 11 tracks by the Canadian Hard Rockers. In the past the band have toured such festivals as Sonisphere, Download and Hellfest, to name but a few. The 5-piece band have brought the new album to listeners and both the new and old fans will not be disappointed. KOBRA AND THE LOTUS are currently touring the USA, with 7 upcoming shows across the country.

"Evolution", which was released last month, is full of passion and fire. The album goes in a slightly different direction from the band's previous albums. Singer Kobra Paige has been quoted as saying "We've never done a record like "Evolution". We've flown demos over the internet back and forth or started a few ideas prior to hitting the studio". Regards the making of the album, Kobra has stated, "This time, we were all working together in the flesh for the full duration of the writing process. It's a collision of everything we love. We feel like it is the freshest and most timeless thing we've brought to the table".

The Hard Rock album has some noteworthy songs to listen out for - including such songs as "Burn": a song which reveals the power behind Paige's voice, without forgetting to notice the instrumental work behind the vocals. Another track worth listening out for is "Get The Fuck Out Of Here"; it is an upbeat and well written song which comes in at 3 minutes 18 seconds and is a song which has depth of feeling. Another good track from the album is "Thundersmith"; a song which sounds like it was written after a scorned relationship and has raw emotion all throughout. The song "Liar" is 3 minutes 33 seconds long. It is a song about the end of a relationship and the feelings that come with it.

Overall a very emotionally powerful album to listen to, which is both well written and, equally, well produced. It is an album that has been worth the wait. Fans of such bands as HAILSTORM and AURIN would without doubt find this record an entertaining album to listen to and, in my opinion, the new KOBRA AND THE LOTUS album, "Evolution" is a well written and performed album. Although taking a slightly different style turn from the previous albums, it takes nothing away from the uniqueness that is "Kobra And The Lotus". It is an album which has a fast pace & some high quality instrumentals and expertly written lyrics. Definitely an album for fans of powerful female vocals.
