Kane Roberts - Saints & Sinners (Reissue) album cover

Despite the fact that Kane Roberts also played with ALICE COOPER he is a great artist on its own. I wouldn't consider him as one of the greatest all time singers but one thing is for sure - this man knows how to write songs that can easily enter to the Rock N' Roll pantheon .

His second album "Saints And Sinners" combined the AOR style with the Hard Rock right from when it was on the gold top period. It is a shame that Roberts never had the luck to reach the same lines of BON JOVI, especially when Desmond Child was co-writing both their material. I can't ignore the fact that I was also dealing here with a great talented guitar player, combining lead guitar parts that will leave you with your mouth open with amazement. There isn't a weak song here; most of them are really good though pretty sticky.

"Waiting For You" is less than the others. The rest of the album reminded me a mix of KISS with a song like "Dirty Blonde",ALICE COOPER and BON JOVI. One of the highlights in the album is the song "Does Anybody Fall in Love Anymore" which was recorded as a demo by BON JOVI, but never released. The song also has another version by Cher. This ballad shows the emotional side of a gold ballad, with an anthem like chorus. "Rebel Heart" is one of the rocking songs, starts with a bombastic chorus and enters to a melodic verse; Roberts sounds at his best, reaching higher notes and illustrates virtuosic abilities with his singing, as also with his guitar. Another rocking anthem is the definitely ultimate song "Fighter" with a chorus that reminds a winning song, especially with the modulation in the end that took the song to a high level.

This album brings some good old memories; this album is a school for what is 80s Hard Rock.
