Get ready for a Danish rock n roll explosion!! If you like AIRBOURNE, AC/DC or GUNS 'N ROSES, this band is made for you. Their hit song "Geordie" [debut album "Sin & Tonic"] has now reached 500.000 plays on Spotify and 200.000 views on Youtube and the band has just been confirmed for a huge European tour. And 2018 will be a great year for this Danish hard rock band. Their album "Black Coffee" will be released on September 1st 2018 through Mighty Music. This one was recorded in Medley Studios in Copenhagen, with Soren Andersen (GLENN HUGHES, MIKE TRAMP, JESPER BINZER) as producer. Sounds good! "Black Coffee" contains 11 hard rocking tracks, and they sound good, like a good morning black coffee.
JUNKYARD DRIVE played at this years Nordic Noise Festival, When Copenhell Freezes Over, and at this years Sweden Rock Festival site by site with bands like JUDAS PRIEST, OZZY, and IRON MAIDEN. So, they are NOT rookies... In September and October 2018, JUNKYARD DRIVE will head on a Danish tour and in November 2018 a European tour has been booked supporting the legendary DIAMOND HEAD. This album is, all along, like a good coffee : strong, but smooth. Tasty but not bitter. Like a black coffee, it gives you strength enough to start the day.
There are good melodies, nice openings on the acoustic guitar, well balanced voice, lively guitars, and rousing choruses ("Time is over" / "Sucker for your Love" /"Make up your Mind" /"Backseat Baby" / "Same old story"). These guys know how to write a good chorus. "Time is Over" makes a good opening song for this record, like a train catching you at the station, and the following tracks take us even further, like when the coffee reaches your veins and makes you feel completely awaken. "Sucker For Your Love" is like a booster, the coffee you take to face your working day. Powerful and catchy. "Backseat Baby" would be like a car ride with good sound, and coffee operating through your body. "Same Old Story" is more smooth, with a powerful chorus, like a good robust coffee.
There is a little gem called "Sweet Little Dreamer" that everyone will like to sing at home, or during the concert and a cool song called "Way too long", which is like a nice pause, during which you can have a smooth coffee, of course, followed by "Through the Door", that makes a good continuation, with a more powerful chorus. As "Wasted Nights" is more vintage-like, "Where I Belong" sounds like a JIMI HENDRIX song. To end the album, "See You Next Time" offers us an acoustic moment, strong as a good black coffee. So, to sum up, we'll say that the openings are lively, the choruses are made to be sung out and loud, making this album as one, with some gems. It is truly a really good album, to listen to, while having a good black coffee (espresso, veluto or whatever, but not a mild one) to "Make Up Your Mind".
