Jar “In Truth We Trust” is Vol 17 in the Pride & Joy Classix range. The Swedes only album released on cassette in 1993,this release has been remastered along with new artwork. Ray Alex, best known for his powerful vocals, carried the creative spirit of Neptune into “In Truth We Trust” Alongside Anders Olsson and Jan Andersson, who not only wrote most of the tracks but also recorded and mixed the album in their own studio, Unicorn Studio. Combining cutting-edge recording techniques at the time with heartfelt storytelling, they delivered a timeless blend of rock anthems and ballads that perfectly capture the golden era of AOR. Tragically Ray Alex passed away in 2019 but his voice lives on in every note of this album. This re-release is not just about music,but a tribute to Ray's artistry.

This album starts with a classy nostalgic feel “Rain” is a late 70's/early 80's style AOR track,a solid chorus,some superb key touches with a strong guitar riff,which gives me Survivor vibes.”Grown Up In A City” has a more solid hard rock sound,with the bass and solid drum beat more prominent in the mix,which in turn makes the chorus catchy.”Hold On” with the keys leading the way,the vocals are very strong,smooth,excellent chorus harmonies as back up deliver a very classy AOR style ballad.”Seriously” is a well delivered AOR track,it has these subtle keyboard touches,again strong vocals,strong rhythm & guitars. “Love Is A Stranger” is a more moody affair set by the bluesy guitar licks & key chords.”Cowboy” is a track with a groovy bassline,solid drum beat,with the acoustic guitar giving a solid foot stomping melody.” Rosalie” (Not a Bob Seger Thin Lizzy/ Cover!) is a great synth,guitar driven melodic number with a strong harmonic chorus.”Hold Me In Your Arms” flows along at a steady pace,a solid AOR track with a lush guitar solo to bring the track to a conclusion.”Harder Than Tears” ends the album with a strong emotional vocal in this chilled laid back vibe AOR ballad.

Until I heard this album by Jar ,I had never heard of them or their music. But I'm sure there is people out there who have. This is a solid AOR album,which is why I love reissue albums,you come across some hidden gems,which for some reason never make it mainstream.”In Truth We Trust” is one of those hidden gems to be appreciated,  which I'm sure fans of classic AOR will love.
