INVISIBLE HORIZON is a heavy metal band from Italy. "Deafcone: One" is their full length debut but they also released an EP in 2020 as well. This band plays a decent balance between heavy and power metal.  The two genres have a very thin line between them anyway. With that being said, INVISIBLE HORIZON have filled this album with songs that can go from full speed ahead to melodic mid paced rockers. It is a nice combo and I appreciate the fact they don't worry about endless sub genres: they just play balls to the wall metal. The album itself is a pleasant surprise although I have some issues with the flow of the track listing.  Of the nine songs, there are only six full lengths one and the other three are, to me, filler that doesn't really add anything to the overall experience.

"Topless Beers, Free Bartenders and False Advertisement," had potential to be more than an intro and is begging for a longer length or a better way to connect to the next track. However the actual tracks run from good go great. "Roll The Dice," is a solid opener with some solid fast paced riffs. The vocals are clean and slightly operatic at times but are well done. The more melodic parts of the song are catchy but the chorus is a bit clunky due to the over use of background vocals but the music more than makes up for it especially the chunky riffs towards the end.

"Never Call Back," is highlighted by impeccable drums that hit at all the right times.  This song is really epic-the stanzas are catchy and the melody is well balanced with the heavier parts.  The guitar has some flash and flare in this one, lending the song a power metal feel. "Tune of the Dead," is the album's best song-it calls out to be sung with a big crowd because the structure is expansive in nature.  The melodic guitar solo is attention grabbing and leads into the other half of the song well. I liked how the song ramps up as the solo builds upon itself too.

The oddly titled "EJ 666 LR" finishes the album with a song that throws a little bit of everything into the mix. It has fast parts, classic metal riffs, power metal sensibilities, powerful bass and a couple really strong melodic/quiet moments. The solo rips too. All in all, "Deafcon: One" is a decent debut that shows the band's talent-and also gives them plenty of room to grow into their sound more.
