Insidious Disease - Shadowcast album cover

What the hell? When was this project formed and how the hell didn't I know anything about INSIDIOUS DISEASE? The line up alone sends shivers down your spine! Ok enough with the meaningless intro crap, time for some authentic extreme Metal by the ones who know how to deliver it!

This project/band (I don't know what it is exactly but I sure hope this turns out to be a full time band) was formed in late 2004 by DIMMU BORGIR's Silenoz and OLD MAN'S CHILD's Jardar. Shane Embury (NAPALM DEATH, BRUJERIA, LOCK UP) and Tony Laureano (a shitload of extreme Metal bands including NILE and MALEVOLENT CREATION) joined the fold to form a lethal rhythm section and there was only one thing left, a vocalist. The "deadly" voice was found when Marc Grewe (yeah, from the legendary MORGOTH) grabbed the microphone and decided to spit his poison!

Look, I will be honest right from the start. There are not many things to say here since this album simply kills! INSIDIOUS DISEASE's music is a mixture of authentic old school Death Metal with some nice Grind touches. The band's rabid sound tears your flesh apart since the guitars spit their riffs the one after the other and Tony Laureano is doing what he knows best, desecrating his drum kit without letting you catch your breath even for a second! This is pure, unadulterated violent Death Metal people!

The song structures are almost flawless and despite the fact that we are talking about uncompromising brutal music here, there is a high chance you will be left singing the lyrics after "Shadowcast" ends. Thank god this is not one of those failure super groups that have flooded the market and have unfortunately raped our beloved music for the shake of money. Another thing INSIDIOUS DISEASE proves with "Shadowcast" is that no matter how many young kids enter the scene and try to play as fast and as technical as they can, the good old butchers will always know best when it comes to "rotten" sounds. Enjoy!
