This is the first release for IDLEWAR, and "Dig in" is an Ep giving you a good indication of what this hard driven blues rock band is about.

Idlewar dies stand out and are a rock band with an appreciation of each of the part that they as musicians have within their band. One of the reasons that makes me say this is that the fact of the bass which is very prominent in the mix on this release. Quite often the bass is buried a little to allow for guitar and vocals but with this band there is no muting the bass and it helps give a heavy thick solid sound.

It's quite bluesy inspired in my mind with some really off kilter grooves that take you to another place. There's plenty of distorted guitar so it's quite accessible to rock fans as well as blues fans. Music for a lot is about being transportation away from the real world and current worries. These guys do a great job of capturing your attention.

"Chunk of me" the opening track is a rocking kick start into the album and is followed up quickly by "Out of my head" which shows a bit more of the groove side to their sound.

"Eleventeen" settles them down into some solid blues sliding and driving rhythms that see them showcasing their skills. This brings us to one of the highlights of the album. "Feel the pain" is real Mississippi pure sludge swamp blues rock. This song would be my favourite of the album and definitely lets you know exactly where their heart lies.

In their bio they describe themselves as a power trio and there is defiantly a load of power here they have a huge sound that takes you to another world. They are a class act that could see them headlining a blues festival to the next day opening for someone like RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE to SOUNDGARDEN.
