IAN PARRY'S ROCK EMPORIUM is a 3 man band consisting of Ian Perry, Luca Sellitto & Allan Sorensen. Ian Parry has been a singer/songwriter for 40 years now & has had an impressive career. Luca Sellitto has an impressive back catalogue too including his solo album "The Voice Within." Allan Sorensen has a healthy history within the music business. IAN PARRY'S ROCK EMPORIUM has released a new album on June 4th 2021 called "Brute Force." The classic AOR Metal band have 11 tasty new tracks for the listeners new and old. The album was produced by Ian Parry & mixed by Fabio Calluori. This is an album that's easy to listen to & get your feet tapping & head bopping.
Song 1 is called "In Isolation" which opens with the keyboards. The flurry of guitars joins in and is accompanied by Ian's awesome vocals. This song has a fairly fast pace & tempo. The song makes me think of climbing a mountain in the harshest of conditions. Adversity is keeping you going, time is against you & the altitude is thin, but you keep going. "'Till The Day I Die" is the third song on the album. This one opens with Luca playing on the guitars & Allan bringing home the drumbeats. Its an opening to a song I could listen to over and over its drags you in to listen to the song, the musicianship is quality in the opening instrumental. For what I'm going to say here I don't mean no offence I really like it. Vocalist Ian Parry has a voice like Jon Bon Jovi "the legend of course" and for a female comparison I think Tina Turner both have powerful recognisable voices and Ian is no exception.
"My Confession" is song number 4 on the new album. It's a song that sounds like it has bite to it. A powerful song that makes me imagine someone running a long way trying to reach a certain goal or place. The runner would have this song blasting through a set of earphones while they run to keep their motivation up. Moving on to song number 5 which is the title track of the album "Brute Force." This song opens with beats on the drums & guitars playing fast & furious and you can hear the keyboards join in. The vocals come in at the right time & make the song complete. It's a song that embodies the listener into a secure place reaching for freedom. Perhaps having the fight of an escape on your hands.
"Rings Of Fire" is song number 8 on the album "Brute Force." The guitar strums that open this song are played phenomenally! The drumbeats are on point. The song is of a fairy fast tempo and the lyrics flow smoothly & sweetly. It's a song that makes me visualise a fight between a romantic couple & the fact that even when angry, lovers still love each other & the heat will die down soon enough cause they can't stay angry with each other so reconciliation is inevitable. Closing the album, we have a song called "One Vision" This song is 4 minutes 24 seconds long and it's a cover of the old classic song by QUEEN. Instead of Freddy on vocals we have Ian Parry paying tribute to the late great Freddy Mercury and doing it well.
My closing thoughts on the new album "Brute force" by IAN PARRY'S ROCK EMPORIUM are that I have really enjoyed the album and would highly recommend it to the band's fans, and if you aren't a current fan of the band but enjoy AOR Metal I suggest you give it a listen! No faults with the album I'd say it's one I'll be looking up on streaming platforms. This has been an album that's easy & enjoyable to listen to. Well produced and well written and performed.
