In the world of Rock and Heavy Metal, there are many dangers that are hidden from our sight and sound. It should be that way, lest we come across a band like HIDDEN DANGER, and this is a one-man band that was formed by Tony Caccuitti in the year 1980. A classic virtuoso, he apparently started playing the drums by the time he was 2 years old, mastered the piano and the guitar by the time he was 5 and 12 years old, respectively. He has, in fact, shared the stage with a few musicians like Johnny Dee from BRITNEY FOX and played drums for an Yngwie Malmsteem tribute band called TRIAL BY FIRE. That being said, the album breaks no new grounds on the originality department, and for most parts is a sub standard production of Rock tunes.

"Hell Fire" is the first track of the album and it is an instrumental song that has one riff that is rehashed for the entire duration of the song. The song boasts of a lead guitar solo in its latter half that is its only redeeming factor. For most parts, this number seems like a jam session than an actual song. "Gone" follows immediately and it is clear why the album has more instrumental songs than ones with words. The lead vocals are weak and mostly sung out of tune and no amount of overdubs can salvage this track. The guitar tracks seem out of sync with each other and the end result is rather cacophonic. "Sign of the Times" and "Rokken" are two more instrumental songs that pop up and although the riff is quite pleasant, the tracks sorely lack complexity. "Believe" is one track that does have words in them and as soon as the song starts, the vocals make a mess of a standard Rock song. The song has a kinship with the kind of music DEEP PURPLE pioneered although this is a weak watered down version of an energetic Rock song. "Brave New World" is the penultimate song of the album and it is a haunting piano piece backed by violins. The piano plays a melancholic melody, but unfortunately it's the same notes over and over again throughout the whole song. And it gets stranger with the last song, "Don't Go Way", as this track is essentially an electronic, faster version of the previous track. If one can imagine a dance/aerobics video from the 80's complete with big hair, garish makeup and bright bizarre apparel, this song would be the perfect soundtrack for such an absurdity.

The album is less than half an hour in runtime and is more or less run-of-the-mill Rock songs with a few good ideas in between. The less I say about the lead vocals, the better because it is bad in most parts and terrible in other places. The production value of this album falls on the cheaper side and while there are a few variations in the riffs, it is not enough to save the album. The other issue with the album is that one good riff does not make a good track and to play the same riff/note over and over again during the song makes it unimaginative and repetitious. Despite the poor singing and production, the repetitive riffs, the out of sync overdubs, I would I would say that the album is not a bad one; it's just that it is not a good one either.<
