I recall when I was still a very young pre-teen I came across a band which changed my entire perspective towards how true Melodic Black Metal should be like, and I am blessed that the band I'm talking about is HECATE ENTHRONED. From the majesty of "A Requiem for the Mighty" to the superb 'Redimus", HECATE THRONED return with a brand new release with their 5^th studio album "Virulent Rapture", a new melodic wrath unleashed for those chosen to intake the band's pure metal energy that they've been delivering to us for the past 19 years.

"Virulent Rapture" is by no means a regular HECATE ENTHRONED release, but a small evolution of the empire the band has built with their 4 previous releases. While keeping a steady formula with what they started, they now move towards similar, but newer horizons of music. Vocals now incorporate different growls and screams from Elliot Beaver, and the band's overall act keeps this release from falling under the typical "cult, underground", and invited a wider variety of audiences to experience. One might notice a slight dash of Death Metal influences on this record, and some would feel it blends well with the keyboards to give it a mild symphonic vibe.

Overall, "Virulent Rapture" is a highly balanced and recommended albums for fans of HECATE ENTHRONED, and for those who are willing to get into the band and add up a glorious 2013 release into their personal archives.
