Haematophoryktos
Hadopelagyal

Little is known about this Black Metal band from Germany. The duo present their album here titled "Haematophorykos," and is has eight songs. "Swartheleniasmos" is first. It has a low, dark, and thick entrance, fueled by downtuned riffs, chaotic drumming, and vocal screams. The intensity does not let up through the entire song, and it sounds like you are riding a continual descent into Hell where the fire gets hotter and hotter. "Promulgating Haematekchysia" is next, and it's another chaotic offering of clanging cymbals, blast-beat drumming, tortured vocals, and a wall of riffs that you can't even see through. It's as if the band stomps on the gas pedal and doesn't let up even know the car is accelerating past its limits.
"Litany of Saltridden Exudate under Theosechtrian Tides" has a similar sound and pace, and three songs in, they are starting to blend together. Sure, it's uncompromising, but that is a one-sided argument. "Amidst Unending Twilights, Unheeded, Bearing neither Lustre nor Name" is more of the same. Stomp on the gas pedal, don't look up, and just focus on your foot planted firmly on the ground. It doesn't leave much room for imagination. Again, it's raging, like a gas fire, but that's about all it has going for it. "Invocation of Abomination's Excrements" might as well be any of the other songs on the album, and five in, this is what we are going to get. It's disappointing to me, because the genre has so much more to offer fans.
"Stampede of Exsanguinated Stygian Hordes" is a little slower, for some variation, but the chaotic sound enters shortly thereafter and there is no denying the repetitive value of the album. "Halios Enthroned in Hyperdiluvian Kataklysmos" is the final offering, and it's really the only song that breaks the mold. At nine minutes in length, it leads in slower, with an atmospheric vibe, but you know the band will be unable to resist unleashing the dogs of hell, and that they do. Take a look at the length of the songs…they are nearly identical, and so is the sound. It's unfortunate, because as I mentioned above, the genre has a lot to offer the fans. I think you can safely skip this album.
