From GMR's webpage, "GRAND DESIGN, the Swedish AOR/Melodic Rock sensation, are back with their long- awaited sixth album. The album was produced by Pelle Saether and recorded at Studio Underground Sweden between January and September 2022. This album is the perfect follow up to their last album "V" (2020). "Rawk" has that signature GRAND DESIGN sound that has made them one of the top artists in the Swedish Melodic Rock scene." The album has 11 songs.

"Tuff It Out" is the first. A raucous riff with heavily layered vocal harmonies is what this song is all about. The riff harkens the listener back to the 1980's Glam sound. "God Bless Rawk n Roll" is a mid-tempo rocker with plenty of keys, big guitars, and sound melodies. I suppose some of the sound is tongue-in-cheek as they pay tribute to the almighty music of yesteryear. "Love or a Fantasy" is another mid-tempo song with vocals that reach into the skies. The band is good at developing melodies on the album so far, but some of the riffs are just too easy. "Your Luv is Drivin' Me Crazy" is slightly faster and more energetic. Much of the melody comes from the grand chorus.

"Desperate Hearts" is the obligatory "power ballad" on the album, where the tenor vocalist can really stretch out. The vocal harmonies are reminiscent of DEF LEPPARD. However, too many mid-tempo songs are holding the album back a bit. "Dangerous Attraction" is a slowed down sound with very nice melodies. This song also might have the catchiest chorus on the album. "We Were Born to Rawk n Roll" is a melodic rock anthem. The riff is fairly heavy, and the backing vocals are thick. You believe them when they sing the chorus, and the lead guitar work is strong as well. "Carry on my Wind" features a few special guests and is really unlike many of the other songs. It has a smooth and pleasing sound. "Give it All Up for Luv" is another power ballad of sorts, and you can't have too many on a melodic rock album. Oh man, does that melody stick in your head.

"Get Out" has a raucous and heavier sound, with a faster moving pace. Varying the songs like this can really help the album stay fresh. "In the H.E.A.T. of the Night closes the album. It's another mid-tempo rocker. To their credit, it is very hard to create a memorable album with catchy hooks, because the thousands of bands that preceded them have already done this. I do like the AOR revival, especially in Sweden. This album has some memorable moments, a great cast, and some really nice vocal harmonies.
