Gotthard have spent more than 30 years delivering straight-ahead, heartfelt hard rock, and they haven't lost a step. Their latest album, "Stereo Crush" ranks among their best. For Switzerland's most successful band, with 17 number one albums and more than 3.5 million records sold, that says a lot. After wrapping a European tour with Y&T, a run of festivals, and three Rock Monsters of Switzerland arena shows with Krokus, Gotthard is back with new music. "More Stereo Crush" is an eight-track EP with plenty to dig into , five previously unreleased songs from the "Stereo Crush" sessions, "Mayday" which had only been available as a video, a radio edit of the ballad "Burning Bridges" and a brand-new duet of fan favorite "Liverpool" featuring Nic Maeder and Krokus veteran Marc Storace.

So last year's album "Stereo Crush" was a good album, but it wasn't a classic Gotthard album for me personally. This EP release surprised me,so soon after last year's offering. "Right Now" is a solid start,a good track, but it just lacks a bit of conviction, maybe it should have been a latter track,it doesn't really have that excitement factor for what's to follow it."Ride The Wave" is a much better track which is a mid tempo track with this solid riff work from Leo Leoni which gives it a powerful presence, before the latter half of the track picks up momentum & energy in the latter stages."Liverpool" was a track on "Stereo Crush" with this version a duet featuring Marc Storace, which is one of the best tracks featured on that album,a solid flowing rocker, which is given a new dimension been a duet. The best track on this EP is the ballad "Smiling In The Pouring Rain",when i first heard this track it got my full attention on the first listen, the lyrics are superb, excellent songwriting and it just draws you in with the melody, lyrics and the heartfelt sentiment."Snafu" is a solid rocker which has that AC/DC style sound and influence,a direction which is the new Gotthard modern sound, strong bold rhythm with some solid guitar work.

"Don't Miss The Call" is another solid catchy rocker, when will stick in your head all day long, the backing vocals chanting "Hey,Hey,Hey,Hey" in the chorus are simple, but so damn effective,to make it a track that's memorable."Mayday" is track which Gotthard released in December 2023,which i vaguely remember, that was a tribute to to first responders which is a touch on the heavier side.."Burning Bridges" which is a ballad featured on "Stereo Crush", this is the radio edit,a great ballad style track Gotthard style, which rounds this collection of eight tracks nicely. I found "More Stereo Crush" to be a solid listen on the whole. The five tracks which did not make the cut for the album are strong offerings, which if they would have made the final cut and replaced other tracks would have made a classic Gotthard record. However I'm so glad they decided to release them because bundled together across the two albums you get a superb slice of Gotthard magic! A definite must for all Gotthard fans & also Hard Rock fans.
