Formed in Saint Petersburg, Russia in 2017, GONE ARE THE DAYS according to their Facebook page are a "Post Groove" metal band and they are here to release their debut album titled "There" independently. They are known for their mixture of classic metal riffs, along with Metalcore influence in their vocals and in their instruments, they seem to be throwing it down in the Russia metal scene.

The first track "Here or There?" is simply just an introduction track to get the listeners ready for what is about to come. The second track "Gone are the Days" is where we hear the mixture of the classic metal riffs meets 2010's Metalcore riffs. This song definitely has a bouncy groove going on with the instruments. The third track "Breakthrough" kicks the speed up a little bit, and the vocals get melodic in the beginning but then transition into the Metalcore style. This song is full of guitar licks, double kick pedals, along with power chords throughout that just fit this style perfectly. "Involved" begins with a single guitar until the rest of the instruments kick in and the vocals from Max Faber are executed very well in this one.

"Follow the Footprints" begins with a catchy rhythm at the start then branches out and starts to get a little heavier. The vocal transitions between the two vocalists fit this song very well. "Lullaby for the Rest" starts out sounding like a slow melodic song but that is quickly changed with the entrance of the double kick pedals. The vocals in the verses sound like a mixture of hardcore and Metalcore. I can see this song getting a good reaction from a crowd at a live show. It has all the elements for a catchy song. The final track on the album is "Pocket Honey" and the vocals slow it down in the beginning but then are quickly backed with the mid growls from the other vocalist. Not a bad song for ending the album.

Overall, GONE ARE THE DAYS possess some serious talent and I can see this band going further than they already have. I like the elements of genres they mixed together along with their creativity, and the production on the album isn't half bad either. Let's just say if they ever came to the states to tour.
