Down in Flames

Glasgow Kiss

Glasgow Kiss, where have they been my entire life? Apparently writing Down In Flames for our listening pleasure!
November 18, 2025

GLASGOW KISS an alternative metal band formed in Burgen, Norway in 2020 backed. Front and center we have Charlotte, with that power voice we all love. She is backed by Daniel on guitar, John on bass, and Frode on drums. While they all pull from different genres of metal, one thing we can tell you is they rock...and they rock hard! Going into "Down In Flames" I wasn't sure what to expect but starting at "Destiny" and making my way down to "Put the Blame on me" was definitely an experience.

The first track, "Destiny", starts out and I'm like whoa ok, this sound definitely takes me back to my younger days but when Charlotte opens her mouth all I can think is ok so this is what Gwen Steffani would sound like if she went rock! That is 100% a compliment by the way. The deeper I get into the song the more I wanted to move and got more and more excited to hear what comes next.

Quickly, I dived into the next track "Down in Flames" that started with that amazingly haunting sound that I personally can't get enough of! It was a perfect blend of that soft haunting I look for mixed with the nasty I expect to get from rock music. "On Your Own" came next and I fully expect that to me my angry, crash out song. The lyrics are amazing and definitely something I would want to say to someone who wants to put the blame on others. "The Wall" was definitely another great song, although the guitar and bass really didn't sound much different from previous songs. I would love to hear them switch it up more.

As I delved deeper into this album I next listened to "One Last Time". When I say my eyes lit up! While I do prefer a little heavier and upbeat I must say this may possibly be favorite song off this album so far! The piano, the softness, the pain in Charlotte's voice all combined for the whammy i was searching for!

"Forsaken", "Those Wasted Years", and "Put the Blame on Me" rounded out this album with a punch. While I will admit "Forsaken" and "Those Wasted Years" reverted back to sounding a lot like the beginning of the album, "Put the Blame on Me" went insanely hard and I absolutely loved it! I would definitely love to hear more of those drums in their sound and maybe switch up a bit of the guitars.
