The band started to exist from the early 90's, when Gen was still in college studying pre-med. From then on, they have released three albums, two DVD's and a VHS tape (the older fans will understand what that format is...) and did a lot of live shows. And I think that those are the ones that attract(ed) the attention of their male fans.

Not much more to say, so on with the album. Even though I truly respect Vincent and his route in the Metal scene (do not forget that he is playing with MORBID ANGEL) I have to say that I believe he is playing in GENITORTURERS not because he likes the music or the super cool songs, but because Gen is his wife. Uninspired industrial Metal that someone can listen to everywhere, trying to copy MARILYN MANSON and Rob Zombie, with a pinch of punk attitude and it just doesn't make it. There are some moments that I really believe are copy/paste ideas from the previous artists and made "theirs". The only track I really liked was "Confessions Of A Blackheart". The production is perfect, as in most releases nowadays, but I don't think that you are going to eat a meal that you ate hundreds of time before - just because it is well decorated - if the taste is not that good.

Overall, "Blackheart Revolution" is a mediocre album, with its good moments, but mostly with its average ones. If you like the not that aggressive (due to the female vocals, even though many times not that clean) industrial Metal I think you can find better albums. I wouldn't buy a CD for only one song...
