Interceptor
Fury

Fury were formed in 2010 in Birmingham UK.They have gone under many transformation changes in their 15 year history, but in recent years they seem to have found their niche.Fury’s last release “Born To Sin” has seen them move into dual vocal territory with Julian Jenkins & Nyah Ifill doing the honours which has opened a new landscape for the band.2022 was also a memorable one for Bassist Becky Baldwin who was invited by King Diamond to tour USA,Canada and Mexico with Mercyful Fate due to the absence of Joey Vera.Fury as a band have appeared at festivals in the UK such as Download and Bloodstock, headlining tours of the UK and Europe as well as supporting bands such as Firewind and Phil Campbell And The Bastard Sons which led to Fury meeting Todd Campbell of Stomp Box Studios in 2023 who’s expertise produced “Interceptor”.
Opening with an almighty bang with the title track and also the first single ”Interceptor” is a catchy headbanger full of heavy riff, full throttle drums & bass with gang bang vocal harmonies with a simple effective catchy chorus and massive guitar solo and duel.Main vocal duties fall to Nyah Ifill for the next track “What's It Gonna Be” which she delivers with conviction & attitude which is backed with catch melodies, catchy riffs and hooks.”On The Town” is a full of heavy full on energy which gallops along with dual vocals which sound really cool, which carries on with “Don’t Lie To Me” which has a big sound which will have the crowd singing along in a live setting. With a great build up to start off “In Pursuit Of Destiny” with a slower tempo but still has a heavy melody with some bold distorted guitar riffs & a deep bass groove which lead to a epic powerful ending.”Can’t Resist (Give Me What I Need)” with some nice key touches to start are short lived with some more heavy crunchy riffs blasting through my speakers with some more dual vocals both Julian and Nyah who both have great heavy rock tones to their voices.
”Walk Away” has a Country & western vibe with some acoustic guitar parts, with another dual powerful vocal and epic power bursts of heavy rhythm and melody with a fantastic guitar solo a track which you can’t help but sing along to.”Look At Me Now” is full of great drums which are backed up with Beck Baldwin's thunderous bass tones which add depth & dynamics to the fast paced melody.”DTR” (Down To Rock) is one of the best tracks on “Interceptor” with it’s fist pounding, heavy metal anthemic feel this is one hell of a killer banging track! Fury have to include this in the set.Bringing the album to a conclusion is the bluesy and atmospheric “Distilled” which is a powerful ballad style track with such powerful & emotional vocals, blistering guitar work from Tom Atkinson and stellar drum work by Tom Fenn a fitting ending to this album.
“Interceptor” is one hell of an album,Fury have deliver killer track after killer track, the dual vocals are superb, the drums, guitars and bass are fire, the production is superb. They have took things up another notch and topped “Born To Sin” which was a superb album. This is one of the albums of the year for me will be in my top 5.Highly recommended listen and purchase don’t miss this one.”Interceptor” is released 5th September on Mighty Music.
