FOUREVER - Two Hard Rock chicks that know how to create an awesome Hard Rock / Heavy Metal album such as "Solitarium"; Finally. Now, I know what you are going to say, and before you do that, let me tell you something: Yes, Women can be not only good for the Heavy Metal sub-genre but sometimes be better than men and I'm not saying this because I'm a woman who loves Metal but because this is the simple truth. Now look, they are two strong women that can rock your ass off when there are Heavy Metal bands that are just not good enough to call themselves a Heavy Metal band.
Nina Moilanen, you're so awesome I'll have to give you the credit for "Solitarium" and to call you a drumming goddess! Do you want a proof for her "powers"? Check on the fourth track "Solitary (Never Meant To Be)". So Nina, if you read this, you're amazing especially when you use the double-pedal techniques. Keep up the good work!
The fifth track "Come With Me" is, by far, my favorite track and why? That's a great question: It's a half a ballad that starts with an acoustic guitar which is perfect if FOUREVER ask to come with them- very persuasive. When I heard this track I can almost hear like two goddesses ask their loved one to come with them and they'll take you to places you have never seen- Temptation. The solo, on this specific track was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Absolutely beautiful and perfect! Well done, girls!
Speaking of guitar solos; Mia Moilanen is a guitar player, and a great one! She knows how to rock things out. She knows which solo is fit to the nature of the song and this is how, ladies and gentleman, guitar solos should be heard like!!!
Now, basically the vocal parts (In between the harmonies) where good but not more than that. Something is still missing. Maybe I look for the roughness in Mia Moilanen's voice. It almost sounds like she's holding her own voice and that's never good,Mia, show us who you are, vocally. I know you're much powerful than that.
Solitarium is a mix of some of the best Heavy Metal bands of all times: IRON MAIDEN, PANTERA, EPICA andNIGHTWISH which is why it's so damn good! I loved it and I'm sure you will.
Go girl power! Go Heavy Metal!
