Extinguish All Existence
Enragement

ENRAGEMENT hailing from Helsinki, Finland were formed in 2006. The brutal Death Metal outfit release their fourth full-length album. "Extinguish All Existence" has a length of about 40 minutes, and it was released via Indian label Transcending Obscurity Records, which has many Black, Death, and Doom Metal bands among their current roster. The first track on the album is "Vorarephillia" and it is a frantic beginning of the album: blistering pace, blast-beat attacks, aggressive and direct guitar riffing as well as crunching basslines. The vocals are growls mainly varying around the deeper end of the guttural range with a few tonal shifts towards higher pitched growls and screams. While most of the track is fast, there are a few down-tempo parts. At the end of the track, there is a part at measured tempo with thunderous guitar riffing and higher pitched growls. Altogether, a strong opening of the album. The blast-beat hammering continues with "Abyssal Hellscapes". The guitar riffing is powerful, and the melodies have some oriental vibes. It does not take long until the first down-tempo part kicks in with thunderous guitar riffs and spine-chilling melodies. It is an alternation between hammering at insane pace and grim down-tempo as the track goes on.
"Abyssal Hellscapes" is an early album highlight, and it was released as video, with the YouTube link provided below. "Pathogenesis" is introduced with powerful guitar riffs at a measured tempo, transitioning into a verse part at insane pace. The blast-beat hammering does not take long, then the track takes another twist towards a more melodic approach at down-tempo. The melodies are blood-freezing during this period of the track. As the track goes on, the pummeling returns with a mixture of blast-beat attacks and double-bass thunderstorms delivered with aggressive riffs and growls. "Parasitic Ingress" offers a change in tempo and rhythm. It is more a Deathcore inspired track with plenty of down-tempo at a sluggish rhythm, devastating guitar riffs, accompanied with plenty of double-bass drumming and a few short blast-beat attacks. The melodies are bone-chilling, intensified by the deep-lying growls, and supported by a few atmospheric lead guitar contributions. "Harbringers Of Degradation" is a mixture of pummeling at crazy pace and down-tempo parts. The guitar riffing is very aggressive and supported by relentless drumming either as blast-beats or as double-bass. The first down-tempo part is almost a breakdown and the track has certainly a few Deathcore vibes.
"Vesuvius" starts with an extended instrumental part delivered by strong basslines, the guitar riffing, lead guitar contributions, and the drums. After that pre-lude, the verse part is introduced by crushing basslines. The track develops into large parts at measured tempo with thunderous guitar riffs, enriched by a few fast blast-beat driven parts and with a greater focus of a delivery of grim melodies. "Hypercarnivorous" goes back into hammering mode, but with more technicality compared to most other tracks. The lead guitars play an important role as they offer an extra dimension to the track. The tempo and rhythm constantly change with twists and turns in either direction. The vocals include many tonal shifts, where deep-lying growls and higher pitched screams alternate. "Insectiferous Abominations" continues with the pummeling, driven by the blast-beat and double-bass attacks. The guitar riffing is thunderous during the down-tempo parts and punishing during the parts at crazy pace. The melodies are once again orientally inspired. The vocals shift constantly between deep-lying growls and highly pitched screams.
"Natural Mass Asphyxiation" starts with crushing basslines, leading into the verse part at measured tempo and a sluggish rhythm. The guitar riffing is very powerful, accompanied by strong basslines. The lead guitars have once again a major contribution to the track. Although there are blast-beats present, it is more the double-bass, which drives the track. The album finishes with the title track, and it has another frantic start with blast-beat thunderstorms and devastating and aggressive guitar riffing. The lead guitars provide the main melodies, which have once again some oriental vibes. However, it is all the hammering, which drives the track and is most prominent. "Extinguish All Existence" is a great track to finish the album. ENRAGEMENT deliver 40 minutes of hammering and insanity. "Extinguish All Existence" is brutal Death Metal at high quality, driven by punishing guitar riffs, blast-beat attacks, and growling vocals coming straight from the abyss. It is a multi-dimensional album with many twists and turns in pace, versatile vocals, and a few Deathcore twists. The album is well produced. "Extinguish All Existence" is not only a brutal pummeling, it keeps the listeners on their toes, and fans who like their hammering with a bit of variety, will love the songs on the album.
