Its back to the Rock N' Roll fame. Back to the years when it was a strong member of the "Top Of The Pops", even before IRON MAIDEN were there with "Women In Uniform", if you remember that awesome video. Imagine the fine murky mixture of LED ZEPPELIN, DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH and WHITESNAKE under the same turf along with the exquisite, fuzzy distorted and dirty sound of the late 70s. Yeah that is a pretty picture, especially with a little drops of smoking dope beside it right? Well, if you are one of those that prefer to mind off the dope, that is perfectly fine, I am with you. So the only thing left for you is to start off the electrical circuits of your brain and tune to the new ELECTRIC MARY album of "Electric Mary III", released by the French Listenable Records.

While tuning to this album I couldn't help but become aware of what makes this band tick is and that is the sense of euphoria. Trust that it is manifested throughout the tracklist. ELECTRIC MARY didn't head on and write material that would be too much for the mind to take, especially if it already crossed over to a different dimension. ELECTRIC MARY touched my psyche with a series of great harmonized riffs, a selection that I have already heard for the who knows how many times, spectacular lead guitar work by two proficient guitarists, Robinson & Thomas, and a perfect front man, Rusty, that made the impression as if he was thrown forward in time to let everyone know what is the true nature of a classic Rock vocalist. Finally I can't let go of the rhythm section dudes, Raunjak & Venom, which paid their utmost respects for the coolness and simplicity of the traditional times of the genre.

Everything that was written here was intended to be nice and easy while keeping the flow steady and secure of any complications. Some people would call it straightforward Rock N' Roll and some just plain Hard Rock made. Either way, as the song here suggests, nobody's perfect. Why not perfect I assume you ask? To be honest, I like the 70s style riffages. There is something so interesting and addictive about them that it is really hard for me to explain. Since my youth days I was mystified by the same type made by SABBATH, PURPLE and ZEPPELIN.

With ELECTRIC MARY, and other bands in the same vein that wish to re-up the eminence of the 70s, it's the same. However, in the long run, there is a measure of predictability that sometimes I wish it wasn't. Due to the plainness of the material, almost every used riff is being sucked dry until a track ends. That goes for almost every track on the list right here. Without that changed, the uniqueness of the material is lowered. Gladly, that the lead guitar licks were awesome and the majority of choruses were well composed. While I listened I set my mind out to songs as "Lies", which kicked with a druggy kind of chorus and a hazy main riff, "Stained" sounded like an old SABBATH along with a ZEPPELIN's touch that provided its Bluesy edge, "All Eyes On Me" is the will to run faster loosely in the streets with a small batch of a vintage Punkish feel. "O.I.C." is another kind of a Hard Rockin' early SABBATH's beats and rhythms with that same Bluesy framework.

70s fans should run along and purchase this release if they know what is truly good for them. I know that nowadays there is more than just a little number of bands that plays 70s oriented Hard Rock, yet only a small selection of those found the way to make it splendid.
