MeglomanIIum
Eclipse
Eclipse need no introduction arguably one of Sweden's best rock bands and have to be one of the best rock bands of the 21st century and Frontiers Music's most streamed band. They are one of the most hard working bands constant touring, festival appearances, with their popularity just growing and growing. Its only a year since album number 10 “MeglomanIum” was released which was a fantastic Eclipse record, now a year later album number 11 “MeglomanIIm” being released so quickly to everyone's surprise. Eric Martensson stating in interviews that instead of releasing a double album last year, he wanted to release two separate albums part one and part two. With lots of tour dates lined up in the latter part of 2024 and already some pencilled in for 2025 Eclipse show no signs of wavering or slowing down at all.
“Apocalypse Blues” kicks off this album with one almighty bang, its melodic, catchy ,edgy & a fast tempo, that distinct Eclipse sound the guys have perfected. ”The Spark” just carries on where track one left off great lyrics, great guitar riffs, hooks sing a long chorus. ”Falling To My Knees” has tints of folk rock within the melody Marcus Henriksson delivering one of his superb trademark guitar solos .”All I Want” is a modern rocker with some pop injection hitting the ground running from the first to last note, ”You're My Hero” a personal, catchy track Eric wrote as a dedication to his father, some heartfelt lyrics showing what a song writing genius Eric is. ”Dive Into You” is the power ballad of the record, which is sure to be a fan favourite live lighters or phones shining bright ,great vocals, a perfectly executed guitar solo, great harmonies ,one of the best ballads I've heard for a very long time .
”Until The War Is Over” is another great melodic rock track with that very clever folk twist. ”Divide & Conquer” has got to be a definite inclusion in their live set .Full of heavy guitars from the start, Philip Crushner pounding hell out of the drums for me personally the track of the album an absolute killer track!!! “Pieces” another masterclass of how modern rock should be written & sound ,how Eclipse just keep evolving album after album. ”To Say Goodbye” is another stadium/arena rock track which has a great sing a long chorus, “One In A Million” has a heavy guitar driven track a powerful and epic, with almighty ending with some fast tempo melodies erupting towards the end of the track what an almighty conclusion to this album.
Eclipse have done it yet again ,delivering an album of pure melodic/hard rock class, arguably the best Swedish band of modern times.. Everything is just perfection, Eric Martensson's song writing ,vocals ,arrangements with superb musical input from Marcus Henriksson, Victor Crushner & Philip Crushner all creating that distinctive Eclipse sound which is so distinctive and unique. This has to be the best album Eclipse have released to date. An absolute must listen & purchase which is looking like this will be my album of 2024.
