Dream Legacy are a rock band from Stuttgart who are influenced by the 80’s and 90’s with an injection of modern energy.Guitarist Andy Paynes is the visionary and driving force behind the band, and for him, the album title means more than just four written words. “Once in A Lifetime” , like the band name Dream Legacy, stands for the dream of creating something great in rock music once again and presenting fans with a timeless musical monument. Paynes composed all the songs, along with song writer Alan Medeiros,  The original line-up was quickly found with former companions John Zell, Ryan Zell, and Ebo Höschwith the line completed by singer André Carswell who is no longer with the band, and was replaced by Dustin Hones, with Chris de Oliveira on bass & Andre Altenried on drums, two more new additions have been found who absolutely enrich the band's line-up.

A strong start musically to “Immortal” comes in the shape of “The Anthem Of Surya” strong of guitar riffs & rhythm but the vocal style in some of the verses I didn't really like the vocal tones, however the chorus is strong & powerful in every aspect.”Out Of The Blue” has some nice melodic piano moments with a great guitar solo, vocally better than the opener. ”You Are The One” has a faster melody with more energy, pounding faster drum work with some fast & ferocious guitar riffs with some great vocal range from Dustin Hones. ”Der Kern” is a slower tempo dramatic number in Dream Legacy’s native language which is followed by “Don’t Give Up” is a heavier number which just doesn’t grab me it has something missing, which I can’t quite put my finger on which is also  the same feeling I get for “Farewell For Now” but the song has some good lyrics. The piano led “Immortal In Me” is an emotional atmospheric style ballad which has one of the best vocals and is one of the highlights of the album, which slowly builds to a powerful finale.

”Don’t Waste Your Time” is one track which despite a few plays I just couldn’t get into  I was put off by the attempted baritone vocals and the vocal tone, yet again I just found it off putting. The brief musical interlude “Simul Stamus” acts to a prelude to “One Love” with is a rhythm led track with epic attributes in the melody but again the vocals didn't do it for me.”Hope Will Never Die” brings this album to a conclusion great musical energy with a good strong chorus. “Immortal” is an album you will like or not like.I personally didn’t like it because there was not enough momentum & energy or pace. I also didn't like the vocals in some songs, however there is no doubt of Dustin Hones vocal range capabilities,I just didn't like the some of the songs vocal tones or how they sounded a bit too dramatic and pompous for me.This album from Dream Legacy is like Marmite and I’ll just leave it at that.
