From the paradise of Palma De Mallorca in Spain, comes complete death and destruction in the sound of their native band DISSOCIATED. The band was created around 2019 from the mind of insane vocalist Kevin Soto. They are releasing a 5 track EP called No Connections via Art Gate Records. The EP starts with a complete face melter in “Self Destructive Chains” that pretends to start in a relaxed mood until hell breaks loose. This is definitely Death Metal with some Doom and Hardcore touches and a mean vocal. The band explores some syncopated tempos like in the title track “No Connections” showing the good chops of drummer “Lucas”.

Bands like CONVERGE and DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN come to mind in terms of song structure. Dissonant guitar chords tuned down and with maximum distortion are provided by guitar player Raul Munoz. Not many guitar solos within this type of Metal style, but some chuggy riffs are surely provided and you can hear them in “Endless Waves”. The band is set to open some gigs for JINGER in upcoming festivals and I hope they have more than 5 songs. We reach “Timeless Remorse” and I will start my rant regarding the bass sound in the mix. I understand the genre itself is played on the lowest tune possible making hard for the bass sound to cut thru, but there is a lot of passages within the tunes that the bass lines of Toni P. Sanchez could be a little more in the front of the mix with some twang added. Is hard to hear the bass sound in the mix and this is sad (for a bass player like me).

We reach the end of our short journey with “Lost In Traces” , which is another banger. The playing is precise, extremely heavy, the vocals are insane and all with some suave keyboards in the background. Good band that should be hitting the festivals this 2025 summer. Nice EP cover by the way.
