Beheading The Snake
Disminded
Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: DISMINDED; independently unsigned, hailing from the glory of Germany - performing Death Metal, on their 2nd sophomore album entitled: "Beheading The Snake" (released March 29th, 2020).
Since formation in 2009; the quartet in question have a Demo entitled "Demo 2011", an self-titled EP (released 2013), a Demo entitled "Demo 2012" (released February 8th, 2013) and 2 albums entitled "Out Of The Ashes" (released March 27th, 2015) & this here sophomore album entitled "Beheading The Snake". 11 tracks ranging at around 55:29; DISMINDED arrange an intricately designed formula of some heavy-hitting Death Metal developments.
The titular track opens up with an acoustic-esque strum; until unleashing a barraged frenzy of uniquely versatile vehemence, amplified adrenaline & a blisteringly concrete aesthetic...compiling gnarly distortion into a flamboyant fretwork of wildly rushing mayhem with this savagely sinister momentum of primitively raw tightness. Elementing boisterously bouncy hooks, an arsenal armed to the brim fuelling a healthy dose of quintessential virtuosity while implementing a borderline foundation of punchy jumpiness with this monstrously meaty manifestation of thunderous piledriving while trailblazing riveting riffs & sonically seamless rhythms that will make you break chairs over other chairs in no time flat!
Consisting of Sebastian Auer on the lead guitar; this shredder showcases thunderously rapid nimbleness, vibrantly portraying quirky swiftness with this killer laceration of organic substance & triggering calamites in which wonder with complexly dynamic dexterity...detailing a diligently crafted attribute in inventively creating an immersive fabrication of rip-roaring chugs and galloping chaos and intensely catchy crunchiness, dominating a fiercely frolicking groove-bomb of rampant maelstrom malevolence. "Disminded" solidifies with more speedy tendencies in hostile havoc, frantically engaging in a deadly combustion of extreme firepower & euphonic haste. Frontman Kevin Lissowski on lead vocals embellishes a diverse array of pipes that surge with throaty snarls, pig squealing rage & hardened lungs that yell with grunty growls/core gutturals. Revelling with this volatile distinction in chunky cords, sometimes shrieking with thick yet malicious stability that will shatter windows while scattering the surface with the tumbling glass from above in a sublime yet vicious strike of relentless panache & ruthless pandemonium.
"Overdose" is a healthy slab of skyrocketing synergies; this outrè remedy of blast-beats, bombastic harmonies and progressively technical melodies experiment ambitiously fluid perseverence of polished tempos that thump with pulsating waves of salubriously impactful bass audibilities from Stefan Hörsting...strumming with flickering finesse and captivating embodiments of tempestuously stormy velocities with zestful patterns that flow into a high-octane silver-lining of stompingly meticulous systematics. "Brave New World" smothers eardrums into a dimensional hybrid of grinding contrast, establishing a strong vocal performance which tests his inner throat with blood-curdling expertise while sprinked with razor-sharp tears that momentously pounds with rambunctious drum hammering from Alex Kaluza. An intergral crisp-clash pummelling production with thrashy songwriting musicianship, amalgamating a grandiose grandure of melodic death grips & steely precision within the cymbals conjuring up this mighty vibrato of monolithic subtleties. "The Way I Hate" blends a deep boundary of uniquely massive yet menacing varieties; oscillating this old school quake with modernized sophistication, harnessing brutally slaying ramifications that merge an impressive hint of blackened death-thrash persistencies with some core-like slams...mixing this distinguished but arbitrary shine of otherworldly extremities. Aggressively possessing the listener into a demonic headbang of neck-breaking malignancy.
"I Am You" obscenely demonstrates damaging instrumentals in which revolves around an explosively berserking bulldozed haze; chiselling a distilling frenetic of maniacal styles, schreeching shreiks & raspy uproars. Orchestrating an evolving bludgeoning campaign that stampede with rampaging retribution, while swinging this radical stomp of motivating madness. "Parasite Inside" obligates one with this double-bass attack; reverberating with rumbling rolling of brusing blitzkrieg, dashing into a machine-gun overarch that oozes out total destruction in mind. The guitars almost have this pristine style of the Big Tuetonic 4 titanic sound representation from DESTRUCTION, brilliantly converged with the fundamental core results, with this slick consistently grasping concept of proficiently industrious but crazy hymns. "Carved In Stone" is the longest song on the record at a lengthy 7:27... this one culminates an enriching ebb of quantum artistry; efficaciously romping up this tense yet soul-stirring thriller, reminding me a little bit of some old AMON AMARTH melos while the dramatic entail of "Blood Red Skies" by JUDAS PRIEST shrouds this remarkably phenomenal story of outrageous vibes of moody anthems in a hefty compact of ominous yet symphonic terror.
"Breakdown Of Sanity" is pretty much mostly an instrumental belter opening up with another acoustical soft riff until venomously pumping out this alluringly fulfilling solo; swamped wth stunning speed with volcanic velocity, served with rollicking qualities & this later half of more of those groundbreaking barks of pig-squealling dark bedlam. The penultimate track "Final Cut" stems from an exalting exhibition of prodegiously prestigious profanities that keeps this bleeding energy going with thrusting enthusiasm; fists-raising with relishingly sulphurous oomph, and an adroitly satisfying tone that makes heads bangs in no time. Overall concluding "Beheading The Snake" with the incredibly catchy and addictive finale "Acid" (and believe me, this song is the equivalent to being hooked on something you just can't lay off); of which personally, is the most memorable track on the record with its scorchingly scratching shreds, painstakingly off the chair grooves and kicking weight that will make you want to replay this one until you drop. An excellent end which finishes off with this NAPALM DEATH like pause that shows how diverse this record actually is.
Bottom line; DISMINDED certainly outdone themselves with this one, while I expected it...it definitely exceeded and offered a superb selection of mesmerising yet hazardous material that will get you off your feet immediately. It has a bleak atmosphere while staying ravenously tight, rowdy and intensely entertaining in the mean time - an enjoyably rewarding listen that most definitely deserves a few handful of spins. This most spontaneous deliverance is indeed a worthy portion of metal rebellion, have at it!
