The Isolation Game
Disarmonia Mundi

A few months ago I reviewed the band's re-release that contained their debut album and an EP that was released earlier this year. I wasn't amazed by their music and I said that they had the talent by they needed work on finding their own sound. A while later, a friend suggested I should hear their Mind Tricks (2006) album. I have to admit that I slowly started finding something in their music...
Even though Italy is not so famous about its Metal bands, with some bright exceptions, DISARMONIA MUNDI seem to slowly build a small yet loyal fanbase. With their new album and the guest appearances by SOILWORK's Bjorn Strid (who has also appeared in the band's Fragments Of D-Generation album) and NIGHTRAGE's guitarist Olof Morck the band seems to take on step forward.
Ok, what if their music is nothing new to metalheads? There are tons of bands that offer this melodic Thrash/Death Metal, but since there are too many, the thing is who can offer the best. DISARMONIA MUNDI managed to create an album with a strong production, catchy songs influenced by SOILWORK, IN FLAMES, SCAR SYMMETRY, NIGHTRAGE etc, and the most important. Release a lot of energy! That is what makes them overcome the huge pile of melodic shit out there. That their music produces energy! The Isolation Game may not reach the level of the titans in this genre, but it will surely not leave fans of melodic Thrash/Death untouched.
Check them out and see that Italy can offer some great music. And now I realize that after DESTRAGE this is the second Italian band that leaves a good impression. I guess I should do some research on my neighbors...
