Diatessaron - Sunshine album cover

DIATESSARON  are a light hearted Rock band from Canada. Or in their own words - Pop Prog Rock Amplified Classical. The band, in my experience, have a very enjoyable sound and the album title "Sunshine" should obviously describe that. "Sunshine" is an album that for me is respected and has nothing but good vibes installed within; which is a nice turnaround for what people come to Metal Temple for, and is quite a shocker for me as I listen to nothing but extreme Metal.

From the starting track "All The Way" and the 6 minute "Deexister", I already felt enjoyment from what I was listening to. The "Pop Rock" sense is strong but the band implement their own creative ways to make it more Progressive and Classical. It's music like this that should always be respected and at least tried to listen to at least once... you might be missing some surprising elements and DIATESSARON has plenty of surprises.

From the vibe I was getting, it felt as if the entire band were playing from their hears - and it shows in the songs, as everything from the enjoyable vocal segments to some very Progressive riffs should leave the listener very chilled out and focused.

By no means is "Sunshine" a Rock and Metal masterpiece of steel, but for its own way of musical talent; they are very much in their prime here, and classy to boot. "Sky Blue" and "In The End" really showcase some fabulous riffs and an original tone that will leave you thinking, "this band are good, and I feel good". "Sunshine" implements nothing but good vibes and this is very much shown during "In The Place Where The Sun Never Sets" where the "sunshine" atmosphere here just left me feeling pleased that I was listening to this song - while still dishing out some cool riffs.

"The Hummingbird" begins with a killer intro that a typical Rock band usually like to do and it hits a tone that the album is going to get better - and it does. If the album from here on out doesn't give you that "sunshine" positive vibe yet, they have 4 more songs entitled "sunshine" "Sunshine Chorale" begins as an introduction to this concept, set pieces. "Sunshine I. Sunshine", "Sunshine II. The Horizon", "Sunshine III. Never Ends"; if these don't give you that "feel good" vibe, nothing will.

So in conclusion, give "Sunshine" a go as it's free on DIATESSARON's bandcamp anyways. It really is a nice change of pace for any Extreme Metal fan like me, and it will give you a chilled out mindset. It's worth giving a go at least once to appreciate such good vibe and talent these guys have produced.
