Dew Scented - Incinerate album cover

While facing the disappointment regarding the new NIGHTRAGE album (A New Disease Is Born), I was hoping to listen to some good stuff by other bands. The next album to be reviewed is the new DEW SCENTED album. Will they manage to cheer me up with their Death/Thrash style or it will be one more disappointment? Let's see...
The German Death/Thrashers were formed in 1992. They debuted with their Symbolization (1993) demo tape, which was enough to secure them a contract with SPV/Steamhammer for the release of their debut album Immortelle in 1996. They have toured with many great acts like DISMEMBER, VADER, OVERKILL, DEICIDE, SIX FEET UNDER, ANNIHILATOR and many more. One more hint that seems interesting is that every album they release starts with the letter I. Just have a look at their biography.
Incinerate has been produced by the acclaimed producer Andy Sneap (MACHINE HEAD, ARCH ENEMY, TESTAMENT, KREATOR, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE) so there is no point in mentioning stuff about the sound. We all know what this guy can do behind a console. So, the album contains the classic DEW SCENTED furious outbreaks plus some slower parts that are the classic bang your head until it falls down style. DEW SCENTED follow the well known recipe that contains speed, heaviness and brutality. It is just that even though they always release very nice albums, they lack of this something that will make them more special. They are just a good Death/Thrash band to my ears and nothing more. The things they play are nothing special, just good compositions that won't stay for a long time in my CD player. Typical stuff that I admit can't keep me interested throughout the album. There are times that they manage to blow my brains, but there are also times that I am a bit bored since there are stuff that have been played again in the past. You know, the classic syndrome, lack of fresh ideas. There were times when they reminded me a lot of KREATOR.
Anyway, not a bad album, but an album that is suitable only for die hard Death/Thrash fans, KREATOR fans and of course DEW SCENTED fans. An album that I suggest you should buy only if you have some spare money. There are better buying options out there.
