Deraps are are two piece band with members Jacob Deraps and Josh Gallagher. Jacob was born in St-Georges, Quebec, Canada and Josh was born in Perth, Australia. The duo met online through their online Van Halen covers with the pair receiving great recognition for their ability to capture the sound and energy of early Van Halen songs which have been featured on The Official Van Halen News Desk. Deraps signed with Metalville Records with release of their self-titled debut album, “Deraps” was voted ‘Best New Band of 2022’ by the readers of ‘Burrn!’ magazine (Japan), and their song ‘My Side of Town’ was included in “The Ultimate Playlist Of 2022” by Classic Rock Magazine (UK).The band opened for Sword on their Quebec Tour,also opening for Ann Wilson,Loverboy,Foreigner and their first UK/European tour opening for Blue Oyster Cult at the Stonedead Festival.

The title track opens this sophomore album with such energy,a fast paced party anthem with great rhythm,scorching hot guitars with slick vocals and harmonies a superb start to this opus with the obvious influence.”Animal Eyes” starts drum solid before the guitars kick in. The guitar chord patterns are infectious,some superb harmonies in the bridge,groovy bass solo mid track,blistering guitar solo with Jacob letting fly.”The Legend Of Larrikin Laddie” has great drum and bass rhythm starting this track before a full on guitar assault,a great rock n' roll style track which will go down a storm live headbanging,fist thumping stuff with a touch of AC/DC about it. After the instrumental “Equinox” interlude,”Last Fall” is a superb 80's arena/stadium number with its atmospheric and melodic chorus,again Van Halen vibes,strong vocal and again tight harmonies.

”Solitaire” is a more groovy number with Josh Gallagher's funky style bass high in the mix,soulful chorus,giving me Extreme vibes especially the style of guitar very much Nuno Bettencourt.”Setting Sun” with acoustic guitar touches,mellow in nature has that American rock sound,vocally superb and controlled,powerful at the right moments,its fresh modern rock touches are outstanding.”Born To Die” is another funky rock track with some guitar wizardry,”Blindside” has a more bluesy element with the bluesy melody,vocals and guitar solo.”Dawg Stomp” is funky it's infectious,catchy and addictive to the bone.”Black Sheep Boogie” brings this album to a conclusion with its infectious melody and tempo,surely a nod and tribute to Van Halen's “Ice Cream Man” ?
