Dechrist - Strong Men On Drugs album cover

Oh my god. Orpheus MUST give me a week off in order for my ears to heal after listening to this... thing. Sorry but no mater what some people may say about what's art and what's not art, I can't accept this as music or as art anyway.
Dechrist is a Canadian act formed by two persons, Maerk Asselin who plays pretty much everything and Martin Maurais who play the drums. He is also the former drummer of Kataklysm. Since their site was out of order during the time I offered to do this review, I don't have any additional info about the band.
Apart from having the most DUMB title for a CD (Ok, maybe less dumb than naked with my hands in my pockets) I didn't find anything really interesting in here. This is grind (thus noise) at its worse (not that it gets any better) with some hints of Black Metal, mostly 'cause of the Duffy Duck vocals (why, man? You do much better with the growling ones). It has a weak production, I can only hear the drums, playing all the time like Martin is indeed on drugs, while a couple of riffs pop out when the drum bombardment stops (for a couple of seconds).
What I also fail to understand is why the heck the band included the songs twice, the second time without vocals. I will give some advice to the band. First of all get a better production. No mater how good or technical your music will get in time, there is not a chance in hell for someone to notice it if it is camouflaged under a thick layer of noise. Maerk, drop the funny vocals, man! You've put a couple of growls in there that sound much cooler than anything else. Take your time and work on them. Calm down! Dudes, if you keep trying to play that fast, the only thing you will achieve is to travel back in time.
Unfortunately for them, this is not a demo CD so... I have to rate it.
