Deathfall - Reborn album cover

One more Burning Star Records release and I am pretty confident that it will be something good, since Burning Star has previously released some good albums. I just hope that DEATHFALL's Reborn will be good enough to make the approximately 43 minutes of its duration offer me some pleasure.

This band exists since 1994 under the name RIMMSHOT. The band was originally a Hardcore act, sharing the stage with bands like BLOOD FOR BLOOD, BIOHAZARD, CROWBAR and DISCIPLINE. Under the name RIMMSHOT, the band released a demo CD and two full-length albums and also managed to take part in a compilation by I Scream Records. In 2005, the band started all over again with a new name, DEATHFALL. They managed to sign with Burning Star and they now release their debut effort under their new name.

Not only they have changed the band's name, but the sound has also become much more heavy and brutal. From the classic catchy Hardcore the band used to play, DEATHFALL now turn to more relentless Deathcore with catchy riffs and heavy as hell breaks. The album has many beatdown moments and the rhythm section is solid as a rock. The vocals are of course brutal. To tell you the truth, there were many times when the whole attitude reminded me of the brutal Hardcore titans HATEBREED, as well as some PRO-PAIN and EARTH CRISIS stuff. The production is really nice and it is as heavy as the band's music is. The album's tempo varies from slow and groovy moments to fast and furious outbreaks. In this point, I would like to make clear that this band has nothing to do with Metalcore. We are talking about a band much groovier and much more brutal than all the young pussies that keep polluting this world with their Metalcore pile of shit!

Something last and important. The band's original drummer is Roel who is well known because of his participation in BORN FROM PAIN. So, when the drummer is on tour with BFP, Sylvy helps the band.

So, if you are searching for something groovy and brutal, this album is definitely what you need. Hardcore, Deathcore, even some groovy Death Metal fans will find this album more than interesting. At least I did!
