Dannie Damien - A Cowboy No One Gets album cover

DANNIE DAMIEN, born in South Italy, has been creating music since we was a young fellow at six years old when his family placed him in piano lessons. From there, Dannie was placed in a school where he learned piano, violin, and studied solfeggio- an ancient six-tone scale. He spent two years studying music then dropped it due to a student and teacher disconnect. He began studying guitar, essentially changing his love for music. From that moment he was in and out of bands, all Rock and Metal, but all unique. One thing was certain; he was not going to play where there was no melody.

DANNIE DAMIEN has released his new album "A Cowboy No One Gets". This album comes in with twelve tracks and just about 50 minutes of listening time. The album starts off with a slower ballad "Highschool Baby".  The guitars are phenomenal. Vocals are OK, but in all honesty, with a single person, I didn't expect then to be as decent as they were.  Track two is a guitar-ridden smorgasbord. "If You Were Here" is covered with what this guy does best, guitar. It shows just how lovely his guitar playing is. The melody is beautiful. This track, being so close to the top, proves how DANNIE DAMIEN is putting himself out there for all to here.

Track three, "I Don't Wanna Sleep (I Wann Make Love)", is a Classic Rock-esque , ready for the radio track. It's a mixture of sexy and love lyrics with a lower guitar that climbs through out. This creates a beautiful melody mixed with low key energy. Great music. The vocals are again decent, but I am feeling like these are better than the first two. At 58 seconds, "What If Children Stop To Smile" guitar love is met with a beautiful song in all aspects. Its very slow, but that doesn't end the beautiful musicianship weaved within the track. Track five "Rollin' Over The Night" is a wondrous track filled to the brim with riffage that truly shows the creative talent DANNIE DAMIEN has. With just about one minute left to the track he busts out the best of the best for the track and ends it on a high note.

Moving on to the title track, we hear a little bit of a different tone from Dannie. His guitar skills show here better than before because, it shows at what caliber he can play. Not that a country guitar filled track is hard, but it does show the range of playability he has.  He even adds in the fiddle - country for violin, showing his complete understanding of music as a whole. "I Love You" ends the album in a low, slow, and orchestra filled way. With only one minute and thirty seconds of playtime, we get to see the much softer side of Dannie's music.

DANNIE DAMIEN is an amazing artist. I'm surprised he doesn't have a band that he can show and fulfill his guitar talents. While the vocals range differently on each track, the real beauty is in the guitar work. You can feel the understanding he has of music. This music is AOR ready, and I am hoping he gets some attention among more melodic bands and labels.
