CRASHDIET formed in the dawn on the millennium and after five years and a split up the band reformed and released its first album, "Rest In Sleaze" (2005), which was the key to make CRASHDIET the first Rock band, after ten years, that was signed directly to a major record label. Now, two albums and two singers later, they come around with Simon Cruz behind the microphone.

It was many fans that found "The Unattractive Revolution" a cracking album. For those who were left incapable of deciding if "The Unattractive Revolution" was a good or an OK CD, the solution comes now for you. Every time that a band member is changing, and most significantly, the singer, it is normal to hold doubts and fears about the following release. But "Generation Wild" is not less than a great album. I dare say that Simon Cruz is the best singer that this band had so far.

Firstly, I want to comment on the cover which reveals that the band's a W.A.S.P fan! Skipping the intro ("442"), the album starts quite dynamically with "Armageddon" - a track that's having lots from the heavy field together with the evident influences of MOTLEY CRUE, especially in the guitar lines. When "So Alive" kicks in, it is impossible not to get how similar the sound is to CINDERELLA; as the tune progresses we see that lots of stuff are in here, apart from the sleazy ones, that go to the core of Heavy Metal. As the band itself declares they are fans of SKIDROW, and "Generation Wild" together with "Native Nature" confirm it tremendously, especially the first one. "Rebel" hits more the heavy nerve, and brings to memory KINGDOM COME. "Save Her" is a mid tempo tune, 'calmer' than the previous ones. "Down With The Dust" is a good balanced track between "Save Her" and what is about to follow. "Chemical" is a fusion of POISON and the Swedish scene. "Bound To Fall" has a lower pace, without that indicating that it isn't a cracking song. "Beautiful Pain" follows the same route.

Tobias Lindell (EUROPE) is the console master, and has done an excellent work. His ability in creating a solid massive sound, together with the excellent musicianship and vocals by Simon Cruz, constitute an excellent album. Those who find that "The Unattractive Revolution" was the stepping stone in CRASHDIET's career, will definitely love "Generation Wild".

P.S: The appearance of the dominatrix in the video clip of "Generation Wild" is slightly oxymoronic, but what the hell!
