German death metal outfit, CORROSIVE, unleashed "Lucifer Gave the Faith"  December 8, 2017 via Black Sunset. Classic Death Metal devotees will not walk away displeased. The album brings ten aggressive and in your face from start to finish tracks gilded by maniacal drumming, heavy riffing, muddy guttural vocal stylings, and skillful guitar solos.

"Taste the Pain" is a heavy track bringing groove and a killer guitar solo. Next up the slaughter continues with "At the Devil's Door", an evil sounding track that will get under your skin.

"Crown of Bones" is marked by impressive riffing throughout. "Leftovers" starts out slower and brings a more melodic sound from the guitars. The track picks up intensity, but still reverts back to the melodic themes expressed earlier on in the track. This may have been my favorite track on the album personally, because of the melodic harmonizing guitar parts, or was it just one guitar with an effect? I'm not certain, but I liked what I heard and for me this was the point in the album where I had to go back and listen to that track one more time before moving on.

Prepare for the "Zombie Apocalypse."  This track was OK, but did not leave me feeling as enthusiastic as the previous tracks. My ears perked up when I caught the intro to "My Eternal Hatred." The track goes right for the jugular with it's jarring riffs and wicked growls.

The album comes to a tumultuous close with "Lucifer Gave the Faith." The riffing was impeccable; melodic and catchy enough to leave me needing to hear it again, but brutal and harsh enough to give a sense of sheer dread. This track is extremely well written and speaks volumes as to the talent and musicianship Corrosive brings to their Death Metal practice
