Live Volume
Corrosion of Conformity
•
November 25, 2001
After their return last year with their new studio album American Volume Dealer, they are now releasing a live album. To be honest I was never so much into their music and the songs in the album sound a bit different to my ears.
This disc offers more than 75 minutes of live Corrosion of Conformity and the fans of the band will find 15 songs in Live Volume. I cannot comment the quality of the songs and how sounds live because I am not really a fan of them but concerning the quality of the recording I can say it's good.
The sound comes close from the speakers and it's heavy enough, while you can actually hear the reactions of the crowd. Seems that the producer, Jack Coffey, used overdubs and the songs come out really good. The band is in a good form and that's a plus for their fans.
Recorded at Harpo's Concert Theatre in Detroit at April 20th, 2001 it's the bands first release with new drummer Jimmy Bower. Songs are comprised from the bands four latest releases with five tracks coming from their American Volume Dealer album.
King Of The Rotten, Who's Got The Fire and Clean My Wounds are the highlights as they sound to me, contrarily with Congratulations Song and Wise Blood which are just flat and empties song. If you are into their music than probably you will enjoy most part of this release. I simply don't like this kind of music but it's a good live release.
