Produced by Klas Ideberg and Peter Wildoer of DARKANE fame, here comes the brand new CONSTRUCDEAD album, ready to wipe the smile off your face and crash your bones. At least that was my very first thought when I got this album for review. I hope the band will manage to meet my expectations.

The Swedish quintet never managed to make it big in the Metal scene, but they surely created a respectable name for themselves with more than decent albums like Repent (2002) and The Grand Machinery (2005), which is their previous album. Still a member of the Swedish Black Lodge Records, the band unleashed its fourth full-length release, but something seems different this time...

The sound has somehow lost the strength and energy it used to have, the dynamic riffing is scattered here and there, filled with more groovy parts, the aggression is not the same as it used to be... CONSTRUCDEAD probably tried to go with the flow and follow the trends by combining their melodic Thrash/Death Metal with more modern Groove Metal stuff, clean vocals that seem to need a bit more work. I remember, while listening to The Grand Machinery being face-melted by a nonstop riffing assault, and now the riffs are a bit more typical. Of course there are times that you can still understand who CONSTRUCDEAD are, but I can't seem to find the passion contained in their previous releases. Something went wrong here...

Of course the album is not that bad, but I was surely expecting something way better by the Swedish metallers. I hope Endless Echo was just a small wrong step and nothing more. I am sure their next album will get them back on track.
