Chronosfear - The Astral Gates Pt. 1: A Secret Revealed album cover

Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: CHRONOSFEAR; signed via Elevate Records, hailing from Italian grounds - performing Symphonic Power Metal, on their sophomoric full-length studio album entitled: "The Astral Gates Pt. 1: A Secret Revealed" (released February 25th, 2022). Since formation in 2003 (as WINGS IF DESTINY until 2011); the quintet in question have an EP entitled: "Chronosfear EP" (released June 27th, 2013) and 2 full-length studio albums in their discography so far, a self-titled which was released on April 27th, 2018 & this here 2nd album entitled: "The Astral Gates Pt. 1: A Secret Revealed". 12 tracks ranging at around 51:25; CHRONOSFEAR arrange an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Symphonic Power Metal developments.

Opening up with this synthetic augmentation, a cryptic intro sends this other-worldly chill down my spine within the majestic spellbinding & victorious ritual: "2101: Ruins of Our World - Prologue". This spacious furor distils a euphonically flamboyant distribution in progressively technical symphonies of Power Metal melody, "Faithless Time" unearths operatic sublimity as divine harmonies chime out with uproarious solemnity & reveling rhythms that rivet with this outre panache on rich stability, swerving with jazzy momentum amongst a high-pitched vocal pattern from consisting vocalist Filippo "Fil" Tezza who soars with throaty screams that yell with clean elegance. A catchy conundrum creates a dynamic virtuosity on quintessential synergy, crafting a distinguished attribute in dexterous experimentation in heavenly celeste & epic fable loftiness - especially within the orchestrated "For A New Tomorrow".

The titular track showcases rich exuberance and buoyant charm as Davide Baldelli on keyboard supplies this vibrantly potent remedy on mellifluous tactics while rampantly rompy thuds swerve with sturdy rambunctiousness from battering drummer Michele Olmi who stomps the set with steely precision & punchy weight in a clamouring fashion - while rapidly swift nimbleness from vibrantly potent riff maestro Frank Campese merge thrilling stridency with sulphurous yet volatile zeal - persistent within the next rumbler: "Under This Bleeding Sky". There are 2 interludes: "Paralyzed - Interlude I" & "Code Red - Interlude II" that manifest with salubrious yet exquisite entrance, an empowering thrill then throttles speakers with boisterously bouncy adrenaline and amplified flair within "Beyond" - bulldozing eardrums into a blistering barrage frenzy on some frolicking gallops and chugging prowess.

The quirky instrumental finesse here excels with prodigious revolution; as a grandiloquent headiness complexly fabricates catchy mobility, where singsong hymns element a flexibly fundamental tremble with radically wicked verve & vigour. "Fragments" captures an arduous effervescence in brio and calamity, as audible bassist Xavier Rota thumps his axe with meaty flickers amongst a dense rumble on reverberating vivacity. The additional implementations of vivacious rigour rips with striking pursuits & prestigious passion, as distinctive impact belts a clobbering but intriguing impulse of unique characteristics intertwined with solid slabbiness amongst a cordial silver-lining while dashing bodies with tremoring tenors that will marvel souls profusely. "Eyes Of The Wolf" has an anthemic aesthetic embedded; a ballad-esque plainsong that marches with drum bashing crescendos, towering tremolo impulse and glorious rhapsody for all heroic goliaths to rock to - similarly profound with the stunning titular track: "The Fortress Tower".

Overall concluding "The Astral Gates Pt. 1: A Secret Revealed" with the epic banger "The World I Left Behind"; I am compelled to say that CHRONOSFEAR most surely outdone themselves with this one, It's an enjoyably entertaining record that certainly deserves spinning & replaying a good few times. Worthy of discovering if you should fancy a healthy dose of Symphonic Power Metal diligence, giving this subgenre justice robustly with original musical eclat, and ethereal expertise, do check it out!
