Burning Death

BURNING DEATH might be the band to reach superstar status, but as long as they’re around they’re bringing us as listeners a lot of pleasure with “Burning Death”.

To say that BURNING DEATH plays Speed Metal is quite the understatement, as to me they play High Velocity Speed Metal with Extreme Intense Thrash Metal and a little bit of Death Metal as added bonus. On their self-titled debut album "Burning Death" they give us just under half an hour of High Dose ADHD Metal with rather Autistic tendencies. And I for one am glad that the music that I hear stops after that quite short period of time, as I feel utterly exhausted after having undergone their musical counselling sessions. BURNING DEATH is a one man band that hail from Brasilia in Brazil, and have been making people go craze since 2021, and thus far gave the audience a chance to adapt to their intensity through the EP's "Tormented By Greed" in 2023 and "In The Valley Of Death" in 2024. Those two total over 40 minutes of what I presume will be the same kind of noise, so if you're up to it after listening to this debut album, I would say; go for it! But beware; you need to have a lot of stamina!

Because this might be short and sweet, it is also very energetic and addictive. And before you ask, yes, you will hear other bands and/or sounds seep in from time to time. The most obvious of them is that the way the vocals sound as well as are orchestrated will remind you of Tom Araya. (If I have to tell you with which band he is/was, you need to reevaluate your musical interests and learn a bit more history.) but let's get back to the music, as I feel that "Burning Death" has that quality that is so important in Speed Metal; entertainment. That level is very high, as the songs slowly but surely draw you in. they might not do that the first time you listen, but somehow you will feel that you are obliged to listen to the album again. And again. Maybe not back to back, as that will wear you out faster than anything, but once or twice a day is acceptable. That's what I found it did to/for me. And I haven't resisted, and ultimately, I haven't regretted giving in for one second. BURNING DEATH might be the band to reach superstar status, but as long as they're around they're bringing us as listeners a lot of pleasure with "Burning Death".
