BLUE VERTIGO are a five piece heavy metal act from Finland, starting as a local school band in 2005 - eventually after many years changes in lineup and a few recordings left privately the band released "False Predictions", the first EP released and promoted to the public.
Right away, the listener is lead into the drum heavy tone of "Wall of Sleep", the BLACK LABEL SOCIETY-esce groove leads the listener into a five track journey in a very comfortable and enjoyable setting. For me, the song "Hallow" lights the fuses in my head with its Punk influenced riffs and rhythm. "Sign Out" seals the package well with its bass heavy early IRON MAIDEN vibe. The album sports a very fresh and melodic vibe - mixing 90's PEARL JAM-esce Grunge , 80's thrash and classic old school British heavy metal with a generous seasoning of Prog and Punk - resulting in a flavorful, fresh and fun journey.
This EP has definitely captured the magic of so many of it influences and created a fresh mix that's both true to its nostalgic core and yet new and refreshing to stand by itself and not just be an attempt of recreation. In the end, "False Predictions" is a short and sweet piece that is going to leave you singing along and wanting for more.
