Blackdahlia - Fragments album cover

Among all the EVANESCENCE-copycat bands out there, putting out generic alternative rock and labeling themselves as Gothic Metal, BLACKDAHLIA strikes me as the most incredibly conspicuous.

"Fragments" makes it clear from its cover that it's some female-fronted romance-themed album with a wannabe-Goth attitude. Going into the album itself, from the very first melody you can tell this is a downright EVANESCENCE rip-off. Goddammit, it's almost impossible to tell whether it's Amy Lee singing here or not. Identical vocal melodies, identical lyrics, identical riffs... It doesn't get more outrageous in terms of lack of musical identity.

BLACKDAHLIA do not stop at replicating the sound of a selling band, but they're copying their visual aspect as well. This is easily noticeable in the "Falling Down" music video linked below. Hopefully they will change their direction in the future, otherwise, they'd better stop making music altogether.
