"BLACK SOUL HORDE" is a heavy metal band hailing all the way from Greece and was formed in 2012. Their a blend of a little of this and a little of that to make it their own. There is not much of a social media presence from what I am finding, so there really is not much to be able to tell about them. Heck, I even had to run to the great and almighty search engine just to find out who the band members were! There was literally nothing about the band itself on their band camp nor their Facebook page. While this does not and will not affect the album review itself, please "BLACK SOUL HORDE" hire someone to help you out on that aspect! Now that I got that out of me, let's hop right in to the album "Symphony of Chaos". First up is "Lady of Shadows". This is straight 80s feeling! I love the guitar, I love the drums, I love the energy. There is so much happening that it scratches an itch in my brain that I never even knew was there. When you think of heavy metal, this band definitely takes earlier influences and melds them right in. "What the Night Invokes" starts with a heavy guitar presence that has me looking for a deep guttural scream, instead I got the high scream. I am not saying that is bad in anyway at all, just was not what I felt was coming. We definitely hear the theatrical long notes that are ever present in 80s hair metal bands.

"In the Realm of Silver Light" comes on and man that guitar is sick! The energy was absolutely insane. Unfortunately, as anyone who has read my reviews before knows, I am not a fan of lengthy repetitive songs. At almost 5 minutes long, that is exactly how I felt about this song and quite honestly I got bored very quickly. "Julian Graves" came up next and again, I was disappointed to see it was another 5 minute long song. I can see this being amazing live while having a couple drinks with friends but I just cannot get into it. So far almost all the songs sound pretty well the same but tweaked. Nothing really memorable for me that would make me want to listen on repeat or very catchy. "Wrath of the Pharoahs" on the other hand did not even seem to fit in with the sound, I loved the change up and it was enough to catch my attention and think they can do something different! It was deep and lower and just sounded so much better and clearer than the rest of the album. Sadly, "Deaths Parade" and "Dance of the Eternal Shadows" took us right back to beginning of everything sounding pretty well the same. The album is very well written, the guitar riffs are insane, the vocals are something straight out of an 80s hair metal band. All in all, it is good. I wish they switched it up more and was able to keep my attention but I do think they sound like they would put on absolutely amazing show!
