BETH BLADE AND THE BEAUTIFUL DISASTERS have erupted onto the scene, pulling of shows with the likes of HRH and the KISS Cruise. But most recently they have released their newest album "Mythos, Confession, Tragedies And Love", the thirteen track album seemingly telling a warped story that ends in trauma. Without further ado, lets get stuck in. The album's artwork seems to be something like a tarot card almost, its really well done and I can't stop looking at it!

Opening is "The Otherside" which gains traction over a gritty intro to really bring the record to life. Beth's powerful vocals cutting through the riffs and really just tying the music together. Whilst it is a solid opening track and really hits hard from the get go it is a pretty stereotypical Hard Rock track. "Sin Eater" and "Tonight I'm With You" continues that archetypical blueprint, the tracks hitting a happy go lucky feel to the music and whilst it is good, I'm just not necessarily feeling it right now.

"Who You Are" really resonated with me, personally I am sometimes referred to as a social chameleon so I can try and fit in... But when you combine the message purveyed in the lyrics with the upbeat and hard hitting riffs it really is a lifting track that is hard not to move to. For the given token ballad look no farther than "Hold Your Heart" and whilst it might be somewhat cliché, I think that Beth's vocals really do sell the track, coupled with some sublime guitar breaks to really deliver that emotive response.

"Undo Me" and "Persephone" seem to have taken something of a turn, from the more upbeat and feel good tracks we are now in a section of the record where the tracking feels a bit angrier, and I think that this style fits the mould of the band a little bit more, everything feels a little more natural and the structure is superb. In fact I would say that this section reminds me a little bit more of HALESTORM or even FLYLEAF. Jumping ahead slightly, "Trigger Warning" is another one of these hard hitting tracks that is full of some really sublime musicianship (I mean listen to that guitar in the back tracking during the chorus!); it really goes to show what the band is capable of! Finally "Still Not Asking For It"... I'm sure that there is a message somewhere in there, and it is evident through the name, the emotion thrown through Beth's vocals (and a certain news outlet interview)... but this needs to be heard for you to come to your own conclusions.

Overall, is "Mythos, Confession, Tragedies And Love" a bit stereotypical of Hard Rock? Yes. Is it also a good example of Hard Rock? Also yes. So whilst it is a good album, it isn't necessarily for me. Fans of HALESTORM and FLYLEAF be sure to check out this impressive group.
