Chicago, Illinois Blackened Death Metal 3-piece BEASTLURKER bring out their first EP, Sanguine Elixir of Psychotropic Divination. The band got together upon the split of NARCOTIC which Jason and Steve were members of, back in 2016. This is only a four track, but it goes on 21 minutes, so it is not over in flash entirely. Let us hear what these guys have produced for us.

"Caustic Purgatorial Suspension" feels more like an intro with sample sounds for the first section, just building up slowly, unsure as to where it will go. When the vocals an instrumental melodies kick in it has drive and tempo.  It does kick into gear. The melody is building well, but the vocals are too coarse to follow what is being said. The close of the song has a great instrumental section; it blends the sounds together successfully, and makes you think that it will explode. The setup of this song is clearly done as an album opener.

"Lachrymatory" keeps up with the pace laid down by "Caustic Purgatorial Suspension". Once more vocals are hard to follow and they do not compliment the hard work being done from an instrumental perspective. The melody being created is very good, its their own style, not a generic or borrowed one. The beat and tempo are set to higher marks, which really allows a decent melody to build. The instrumental play is fantastic and frantic at the same time. Vocals, I will hold my hand up and say I can't follow but they are put in place well with the instrumental melodies, so it doesn't bother me as much. Solid effort

"Judas Goat" is another heavy hitting drum beat starting song, which allows a buildup for the rest of the instrumentalists to join in. the harmonic blends are on full display in this song too, really mixing the styles and strengths or each member to create a fantastic sound. The vocals slow things down, but the band controls their tempo well enough to allow you to appreciate exactly what is going on, it's a sound that shows how much potential this band has to really put together a release that you will want to hear more of and possibly see live to see if the replicate it on stage.

"Nest of Squalor" may have slowed the overall pace down, but it shows composure by the band, and shows a new style, more Melodic without entering Melo Death territories. It's a nice change, showing that their strengths do not just lay in one place. The harmonic melodies are great, could have maybe expanded a bit further, but they are brilliant enough not to have to worry.

As an EP it is always good if it finishes and you want to hear more. So the band will know that what they have done here will work for a full-length release. The melodies created can be expanded and be allowed to grow. The band really play to their own strenghs and as long as they continue to do so, they will keep slaying it. It is a great release
