Rock 'n' Roll all the way! It all ends up to Rock 'n' Roll anyway. Stop grooving your fuckin' foot to that damn ol' AC/DC tune and think about it. Even if complexity, brutality, battlefields or damnation is your weapon of music choice, it's the '1-2-3-4' 4/4 attitude that still makes the noisy world go round. Backyard Babies reveal the truth - not in any innovative way, but who gives a fuck? As long as beerz and smoke are around, free spirits will tease the immaculate and cheerz will be heard around the globe.
Sweden is nothing more than Abba, Malmsteen and Marduk...Wrong! The restless wildness of Backyard Babies shines since the late 80s. A hint? The Hellacopters - a 'dirty' fave for many Metal fans the last years - bear a link with the Babies. Who? Guitarist Dregen, of course! You sum I up to the rest. A pile of hard-rock-an'-rollin' releases from the back yard - who remembers 1994's Diesel And Power? - brought a good base of fans for this four piece lewd crew. Not to forget - thanks Mr Newsletter! - Making Enemies Is Good and Stockholm Syndrome both earned Backyard Babies a Swedish Grammy and a personal nod from Velvet Revolver as well as AC/DC to open their European tours. Ok, so what? Even Mrs Britney '24/7 Butt Service' Spears won a Grammy - though not lucky enough to open for Angus Young and Co. (so far) - but you get the point. No southern US 'light lager' clan, this guyz hail from Sweden!
It was weird enough to see this album being released via Century Media. Hmmm, altering the future? Nope! Rolling like thunder, the opening track plus cuts like Cockblocker Blues, Roads and Blitzkrieg Loveshock set the party afire. Fuzzy guitars, rough chords, dirty vocals, rolling bass/drums and no keyboards can shit the helluva you.

Using the term 'punk' would not be an outta space move, still I think this specific album will have more to say to people that enjoy acts like Guns N Roses, L.A. Guns, Michael Monroe's  (Hanoi Rocks frontman) solo career and The Cult. Hmm...and - of course - AC/DC and some of Alice Cooper / Motorhead stick to this; not the way you think, especially for the latter(s)....Now, if bands like e.g. Greenday or 'modern' The Almighty is out of scope, take a second thought (this is the mega-con, in serious term). I doubt if someone would like this to accompany his/her personal moments but People Like People Like People Like Us it's dissent enough for a Rock 'n' Roll orgy with your non-Metal friends. Let aside that there's more of a possibility to get laid with this one in 38'41 than with e.g. Ace Of Spades...
