Aunt Cynthia's Cabin were originally a duo formed in 2018 in San Diego,USA by Brennan Justice and Anthony DeFreitas with he pair initially handling all the instrumentation for the debut single "On The Mountain".Eventually the duo added Jeremy Luvaas in the band permanently to handle the more complex drumming, and  their debut album "Misty Woman".The band have re-recorded the 2020 debut complete with a bonus track "Magic Touch".The album was produced by Grammy Award Winning producer Adrian Quesada. The reissue which is available on vinyl & cd was originally released on Nasoni Records.

The mellow clean guitars start the opening track "Kennel And The Dog",before it takes a more heavier turn, buzzing & distorted riffs, with a prominent bass tone, there is a distinct psychedelic, trippy sound associated to the late 60's.One thing I've noticed with this album is that all the even track numbers (except for the bonus track) are instrumental pieces "Which One Has The Jellyfish" has a catchy groove which again has a 60's vibe, clean guitar tones, but fuzzy in places."In The Valley" has some weird & wonderful sounds, lots of percussion and rhythm,it just sounds like a jamming session where anything goes with creativity."Grains Of Sand" is a two minute instrumental piece with tremolo touches and organ noteage. The title track "Misty Woman" is a very trippy outhere track, with a heavier feel with maybe a touch of Doom Metal elements."Rider In The Desert Sun" is a two part track, with the first part another instrumental piece, which as an instrumental piece sounds great. The second part of "Rider In The Desert Sun" has a heavier sound, vocally not my go to style, some great guitar touches & rhythm which is of comparison to Black Sabbath."Black And Blue" is another psych rock style track which despite a few listens I just can't get into,i find it boring & mundane."Magic Touch" the bonus track  has some nice guitar tones & runs but thats all i can take from that.

"Misty Woman" despite a few listens was definitely not my cup of tea musically,I couldn't find a connection with the music style. There is no denying Aunt Cynthia's Cabin's musically ability, they are good at what they do,but unfortunately I just couldn't get into the vibe or mood to appreciate their musical genre. But that's just my opinion,I'm sure it will be others peoples jam.
