Nova
Atargatis

Atargatis is a Syrian goddess of love and fertility that is transformed into a fish with a human head. ATARGATIS is also the symphonic metal band from Germany that was formed in 1997 but managed to release their first studio album in 2006. Wasteland introduced ATARGATIS to a wider audience with their Goth/symphonic metal style. Nova is ATARGATIS second album and balances from symphonic to Goth and then from power to atmospheric metal music.
The thing you (probably) will attract a metalhead's attention is the female singer with the red hair and soprano's voice. Stephanie Luzie also contributes her excellent talent to the Austrian band DARKWELL. We always like the site of beautiful women in metal music.
The moments that ATARGATIS music will draw your musically metal soul are few. The song Crucified shows that this band has the potential for something good, because of the catchy chorus and the sympathetic arrangement. Green Lake's Ground is the last good thing that Nova gives to the listener, a song that creates a certain feeling of sadness, a LAKE OF TEARS influence maybe. That is all that Nova left in me.
If you heard male vocals, this is because Matthias Hechler (CREMATORY) made a guest appearance on the songs Frozen Innocence, Riven and Fever Of Temptation.
ATARGATIS is a band with many musical potentials, let's hope that their musically ideas will improve in the future. On the other hand, Stephanie Luzie has what it takes to take ATARGATIS on the next level. The question is if the rest of the band members will follow her talent.
