What would you say if you got an album from a band you didn't know that was released from a label you didn't know and the label's name was In At The Deep End Records? That it reminds you of labels like I Used To Fuck People Like You In Prison Records and the release is going to be a pile of shit. Now what would you say if you found out that the band is formed by 18 year old lads? That it gets pretty interesting...

ARCHITECTS is a band formed by five youngsters in Brighton, UK, in 2004. And as it seems I fell into the trap like an amateur. What could a band formed by 18 year old boys with a contract with In At The Deep End Records play other than Metalcore? Yeah, it is not exactly Metalcore, but this is at least their main style. Not only that, but this is their debut album, too! God show some mercy!

Nightmares is an album full of melodic, yet brutal Metalcore compositions, that these guys make less boring by enriching them with some insane rhythms that resemble to bands like DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN, CONVERGE and UNSANE. I can't say that these youngsters are not talented. They can handle their instruments really good and they are not the typical boring crap full of blasts and IRON MAIDEN leads, but they are not what I could describe as interesting. In At The Deep End does well to promote five guys with emo haircuts that are in a young age, but of course we are not obligated to buy the album, right?

The more than good production is a really positive thing in this kind of music, but as I always say it is the music that matters, not the sound (in some cases it does). ARCHITECTS can continue attracting an audience that ranges from 14 to 20 years old, but I am not in them. If you like trendy and catchy shit, this album will surely please you.
