Arch Enemy - Covered In Blood album cover

This band honestly needs no introduction because they have been a staple in the Metal world since 1995. ARCH ENEMY has released 10 full length studio albums plus many more live and compilation albums. The album I will be covering today is the compilation album "Covered in Blood" which is an album full of covers. Ranging from bands like IRON MAIDEN to CARCASS and even EUROPE, this album is sure to please everyone. Today I will be picking out which songs I think were covered the best.

The first song on this list is the song "Shout" written by TEARS FOR FEARS. This cover is one of my favorites but I am kinda biased because this song takes me back to when I was a kid. Michael Amott and Jeff Loomis did a wonderful job on the guitars and Alissa did a fantastic job on the vocals. The next song I wanna talk about is the cover of JUDAS PRIESTS' "Breaking the Law". Daniel Erlandsson was an absolute beast on the drums and Sharlee D'Angelo killed it on the bass. This was definitely one of my favorites on the album as well.

I still can't get over the cover of "The Zoo" written by SCORPIONS. It was a perfect rendition of the song in my opinion. It was absolutely phenomenal. My jaw hit the floor when I heard "Wings of Tomorrow" by EUROPE come on. I couldn't believe my ears. I never in a million years thought I would ever hear a Death Metal version of that song. And then lo and behold another one I never thought I would hear, "The Oath" by KISS comes on right after. I have to say that even though I am not the biggest KISS fan, this song was fucking amazing.

Now this next song is very near and dear to my heart. "The Book of Heavy Metal" by DREAM EVIL is one of my favorite songs of all time and ARCH ENEMY fucking kicked ass on the cover. This is by far my favorite song on the album. I can't even express how happy I was when I heard "Incarnated Solvent Abuse" by CARCASS come on. The original and this cover are absolute bangers. I am enthralled with this one for real. One song that I think that they actually improved was MANOWARS' "Kill With Power". This one is bar far better than the original.

Now I was a little apprehensive when I saw that they covered "Symphony of Destruction" by MEGADETH. But I gave it the ol college try and I have to say, Dave Mustaine, eat your heart out brother, Alyssa has your number pulled! ARCH ENEMY also successfully covered two IRON MAIDEN songs, "Aces High" and "The Ides of March" I was really thinking they would be horrible but they did the songs justice. I usually just call sacrilege when I see that someone has covered IRON MAIDEN.  All in all I would say this is a damn good cover album, so if you like any of the aforementioned bands you should pick it up!
