Metal maniacs, rejoice! I am proud to present to you: APRIL 21ST; signed via Eclipse Records, hailing from Brazilian grounds - performing Metalcore, on their sophomore EP entitled: "Courage Is Born From Fear" (released September 10th, 2021). Since formation in 2016; the quartet in question have only 2 EPs in their discography so far entitled: "Remains" (released 29th of August, 2018), and this sophomore release entitled: "Courage Is Born From Fear". 5 tracks ranging around 15:81; APRIL 21ST arrange an intricately designed formula on some heavy-hitting Metalcore developments.

Good job not all of their releases were unveiled on April 21st, that would just be too cliche...what's even more coincidental is if you type the name into Google, it'll come up with the unlocking date of lockdown of that dreadful year 2020...here in the UK at least. But you aren't here for conspiracy theories, you are here for molten Metal meltdowns! APRIL 21ST are a deep band that seem to delve into the topic of mental health in an extremely aggressive overdrive that showcases hardened authority, bashfully... while vivacious songwriting musicianship marvels with riveting outbursts, exuberantly and prodigally.

Opening up with this acoustic atmosphere within "Before The Storm", this melancholic ritual starts things off with ethereal harmony. Until an aggressive roar within "Struggling To Break This Cycle" unleashes rampantly rompy pandemonium, shouty verve & riffing malice. Lukas Akira on vocals consists in a guttural bellow that yells with weighty growls, groveling barks and raspy throatiness which surges with ruthless shrieks while some pig squeals squawk with extreme cords while these spellbinding remedies thunder with progressively technical melody amongst a dexterously dynamic foundation on punchy weight throughout tight rhythms that revel with harmonious hypnotism. "Stand Up and Scream" showcases those sulfurous hymns exceptionally, as amplified adrenaline and boisterously bouncy grinds elements a catchy dose of some eurythmic implementation amongst those slaying lacerations of killer experimental firepower expertise that's just impactfully hybrid while remaining concretely complex for good measure.

Herbert on guitars excels at a frolicking rumble on reverberating trembles that manifests with organically raw substance, rollicking trailblazing & towering stability on synergetic grooves in an barrage frenzy of clobbering rampage. The penultimate track: "Healing My Wounds" showcases rambunctiously volatile tempos where monolithic piledriving from audible bassist Helbert Collyn & slamming drum hammerings from August Nery belt a distinctively ponderous thump on stompy precision while injecting an infectiously venomous systematic on profusely robust maelstrom stability...forging a distinguished but distorted grit on salubriously tense yet punchline mayhem while merged with those gripping but other-worldly sensations, elegantly & viciously.

Overall concluding "Courage Is Born From Fear" with the finale epic: "Decision" I am compelled to say that this was a banging EP and an enjoyably entertaining discovery that while short, I had heard enough to render this a brutal listen. APRIL 21ST creates a hefty but eloquent experience in which will pierce through necks to head bang and break chairs to mightily, while some hints add an emotive flair - that just mixes an all round varied zest to it - it's still throttling while remaining relentlessly bulldozing and diversely fluid.
