Anvil - Plenty Of Power album cover

Anvil, one of my all time favorites, need no introduction.
The Canadian metal legend is one of the very rare bands, who were part of the early days of the metal scene and never let their musical direction or their fans down, at least they didn't let me down. Following the true metal revival of the last years ANVIL also came back to the top, just mentioning their legendary showcase on the '98 Wacken Open Air, their sensational tours with Overkill (1996), Flotsam & Jetsam (1997) and their 1999 headlining tour with Riot. With Speed of Sound ANVIL released one of the metal highlights of 1999, which could be seen in the year's polls of all major metal magazines.
Here's the eleventh stroke: PLENTY OF POWER is unleashed to the metal crowds. The band shows more than one step back to the roots on this one, orientating on their classics Forged in Fire and Metal on Metal. As the last albums were quite thrash and speed oriented, Plenty of Power goes back to melodic, grooving metal tracks such as Ball of fire, Siren of the sea or Plenty of power. Although melody takes more place the album it's still heavy and fast like the previous Speed of Sound album.
ANVIL guarantee quality which we have to honor in our reviews as happened with all of the last albums. After twenty years of metal ANVIL show no signs of exhaustion so the trademark still reads: ANVIL - too heavy for whimps ! Just listen to that remarkable tracks :  Groove Science  ,  The Creep  ,  Beat the Law  and  Real Metal  and you'll understand what the phrase TOO HEAVY FOR WHIMPS means !! That's all folks.
