Ankhara - Ankhara II album cover

Well, first of all I have to admit that when I got this CD the first thing I said was :  What the fuck is that ?!?! , Ankhara released a new album ? finally it has come true. For those who haven't heard the band before please read the curriculum vitae below.
You have to read the curriculum vitae first so : the band was formed in 1995. After the search for the final line-up, the logical training phase, all those long hours of hard work at the rehearsing room, their first demos and first local appearances on stage, ANKHARA started to consolidate being considered as a solid and promising act within the Spanish capital's Metal scene. All this caused them to gain more experience and transfer it to their live performances and in August 1997 they started moving out of Madrid more often, accompanying on several occasions bands such as MEDINA AZAHARA or MURO. Next year they took part in the /DURO CON EL 98/ festival, which crossed throughout Spain. At Madrid's edition, celebrated at Sala Canciller venue, they shared the stage with KNELL ODISSEY, MURO, AVALANCH, SARATOGA and OBUS, and this show stands as one of their best, something in which media agreed with thereafter. One of their other big gigs took place months later, when they were assigned as a guest band for the tour of prestigious SAXON in Spain. Just some time later, they won the contest organized by the Council of Pinto -located near Madrid city- which gave them the possibility to start recording their first album. Their debut album /Dueno del Tiempo/ was released in 1999.
Ankhara return with their new, long-awaited output , entitled Ankhara II. After releasing their debut album Dueno del Tiempo  , Ankhara started to consolidate being considered as a very reputed name, as a solid and promising act within the Spanish Metal scene.
Ankhara II invites you to a musical adventure of 11 excellent tracks, where hard rock and more modern power metal realms are explored in a very personal way. This interesting release becomes loaded with a bright collection of powerful metal anthems and outstanding guitar-oriented songs where virtuosism plays a predominant role, thanks to some impressive neoclassical arrangements and progressive metal tendencies.
Memorable hooklines and haunting refrains will become one of the stylistic flags that Ankhara's loyal base of fans will enjoy in this album. An instrumental level, these young, talented musicians give free rain to all their compositional imagination and abilities, with an impeccable good taste and finesse, constituting a tight and experienced team. I should also highlight the impressive potential that vocalist Pacho Brea showcases on this album.
The quality and broad-mindedness of Ankhara's music, escorted by a wealth of creative ideas and clever arrangements, make this new album a perfect sample of their ambition for conquering the world. The only bad point of their new release is the lyrics, in case to understand what they are saying you have to speak Spanish. If they release an album with English lyrics I am sure they 'll find bigger effect to the heavy metal fans.
